Wyoming has always been of interest. Any particular towns you recommend?

I like living in a college town, my dad was Professor Emeritus, back when he and his colleagues were WWII veterans, not the snowflake manipulators of today.

Sorry, tangent... I'd say Cheyenne or Laramie. I've also looked at Kearney Nebraska.

This is not in southern WY, but Buffalo, WY is a very nice little town.

There is also a very small town that I went to specifically, in WY, called Ten Sleep. Absolutely gorgeous scenery there and leading to it. Also in the northern part of the state.

Casper seems like a pretty nice town. I went to one of the best museums ever in Casper. And Cheyenne just over the CO border isn’t bad. Still has a lot of the old west, retro feel.

I totally love Colorado’s weather as we get nice days even in the Fall and Winter, but the front range, specifically the Denver metro, is exploding as far as population.

Still, there are some very nice towns of varyimg sizes throughout the state. Rifle. Fruita. Glenwood Springs. Carbondale. Those are all on the Western slope. Beautiful, beautiful area out there. But there are some little towns on the plains and down south that I have really liked, too. Elizabeth isn’t super far from the Demver metro (about an hour), but very rural. I can’t remember who, but one FReeper memtioned they live in Elizabeth. I love the drive out there when I go to pick up my son from his friend’s house.

You can look up about various places on City Data if you haven’t already come across it.

Also Google:

The ten best small towns to live in “state of your choice”.

Good luck to you.

laplata: Any ideas for CO or WY. Would you recommend Durango?

Stay away from Absaroka County. They get like a murder every day. The sheriff is all right, though.
