We are not required, nor would it be prudent, to take in the whole damn world.
I’m sure there are some good people in Haiti. And some baddies.
But it makes no difference about the content of character. Our immigration should be very limited and very choosy.
Get over yourself Mia. Compassion to the world is not compassion to the citizens of this country. In the US, we should come first.
It doesn’t even qualify as compassion for the world because the people who stay in the third world countries are generally the most impoverished of the bunch, and with many of their own not coming back but getting benefits, you could argue that life is made worse for they who are left behind.
