Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough denied yelling "F--- Trump" before Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Sporting News posted a video clip on its Twitter account that quickly gained steam showing someone yelling "F--- Trump" as the Alabama players walked through the halls of Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the field. Sporting News identified Scarbrough as the Alabama player who said it but Scarbrough said that wasn't accurate after the Crimson Tide's 26-23 title win over Georgia.
"I'm just trying to celebrate the win," Scarbrough said. "Those type of words didn't come out of my mouth."
Scarbrough also tweeted that "If y'all really listen I said Georgia smh about y'all people in this world."
President Donald Trump was in attendance for the college football national championship game in Atlanta. Trump arrived shortly before gametime, stood on the field during the national anthem and then left the game sometime during halftime.
John Talty is the college sports editor for Alabama Media Group. You can follow him on Twitter @JTalty.
The very fact he used the f-bomb at all - regardless of who it was directed at - speaks volumes about his (lack of) character.
It may cost him a job in the NFL. Walter Report has him down as a 4-5th rounder. He may have to learn how to block and play special teams. Even if it didn’t happen it will be a big message to others to just keep their mouths shut. All pro-players(in their prime) can still get away it. Doesn’t mean the marginals should follow their lead.
It is inaudible to make out the exact words. It sounds like F’ Trump but if you listen several times it doesn’t. It doesn’t sound like Georgia either.
Maybe it was authentic frontier gibberish.
Hope So.
Someone also may have told him how NFL owners already have all the political football players they need.
Alabama Beats Georgia For 2018 College Football National championship In Overtime (26 - 23)
Has anyone mentioned the guy who appeared to be trying to punch a coach?
Sadly that sort of language is regularly heard everywhere these days, even among the high and mighty of our national politcal establisment.
Did you run it through an English to Thug translator?
Seriously? If he did say Trump (doesn’t sound like it if you listen closely), he probably moved up to round 2. You post suggests the NFL loves America.
The very fact he used the f-bomb at all
**************
That is not uncommon in a lot of today’s lingo/conversation.
Yes, because football players never cussed back in the good old days.
No, but if you listen there is only one word you can hear clearly and then T.... Listening closely I couldn’t hear the P sound as if saying TRUMP. He could be saying F**k Tom.
The power of suggestion is great. The first 3 times I listened to it, it sounded as if he said F Trump, but I forced my mind to say I don’t know and just listened. Approach it as if you didn’t know what he said and listen closely. You will find that what you think you heard is not what is being said.
Great Movie.
I’m pretty sure that I saw both head coaches use f bombs during the game.
What happened to the good old days when the coaches punched the players?
LOL, ya think?
I remember players being dragged out and benched if one were to say such a thing in High School!!! I’m sure most college coaches during the day would do the same thing!!
Maybe he hates Tom Brady?
BoBonics.
