Attorney General Jeff Sessions made a cataclysmic mistake by rescinding Obama-era federal marijuana policies, according to Roger Stone, President Trumps former campaign adviser.
Mr. Stone, 65, formed a bipartisan, pro-marijuana lobbying group earlier this year, the United States Cannabis Coalition, dedicated to influencing federal level decision makers, including the president, so they honor states rights and state mandated marijuana laws as well as reform our antiquated and failed federal drug laws, according to its website.
Mr. Stone, the presidents campaign adviser through August 2015, criticized the attorney generals recent decision to roll back marijuana protections during a luncheon Friday at the Tiger Bay Club of Central Florida, the Orlando Sentinel reported afterwards.
The Department of Justice has outlawed marijuana for decades, but the Obama administration put in place policies that allowed dozens of states to legalize the plant without prompting federal interference. Mr. Sessions nullified those policies on Thursday, however, casting uncertainty over the future of existing medical and recreational marijuana programs already in place across the country.

Fatal crashes involving drivers who recently used marijuana doubled in Washington after the state legalized the drug, the AAA reports. The significant increase in fatal crashes involving marijuana is alarming, said Peter Kissinger, AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety CEO, adding that Washington serves as an eye-opening case study for what other states may experience with road safety after legalizing the drug.

>>Umtil a potheads drives straight at you and your family.
My observation, FWIW, of MJ-using folks who I’d consider likely to be involved in a traffic accident - is they typically are also using alcohol.... heavily.
No problem dropping a dime on their arse if they refuse to listen to reason and insist on driving, either.
Do stupid things, win stupid prizes.
Clueless is demonstrated by your posts.
Your impotent attempt at an insult is also amusing.
No discussion of marijuana would be complete without mention of Ricky Gates, the poster boy for marijuana, who drove his Conrail train through three red stop signals head on into an Amtrak train in 1987, killing 16 and injuring 174. In a 1993 interview with The Baltimore Sun, Gates said the accident would have never happened if not for marijuana.
True never trust a mind that likes being in a out of focus.
Tom Daschle always found those who didn’t grovel for his agenda to be either “amusing” or “disappointing.”
That may be true for marijuana, but the flaunting the enforcement of validly passed law should be near the top of your list.
Alcohol kills people but, it has caused the birth of a good many.
George Soros lives rent-free in your head.
You can make the same argument with alcohol, genius. It’s clear to me that you’re on this site yet you pick and choose when you want liberty.
George Soros’ agenda to “legalize” all drugs lives rent free in your head.
The desired effect is that the state politicos want the money that this generates and to hell with the consequences.
Here, in WA state, there are already problems. People causing accidents and are high, although there are those that say the statistics don't support that. But, wait a couple of more years and then check the statistics.
Also, there is an uptick of the number of people who are users going to the ER's vomiting all over themselves which is an effect of too much pot usage.
Then there is the long term health effects. Lung cancer, anyone? How about diminished brain capacity? A stoned person is anything but a rocket scientist. And, so on!!!
Its clear to me that youre on this site yet you parrot George Soros’ agenda.
I have no agenda.
MJ is illegal in the state in which I reside, and I support it remaining that way.
You obviously do have an agenda, and it appears to be clouding your judgement and use of reason.
Marijuana cures bad breath.
” Prosecutors are appointed locally “
They are appointed by Sessions.
I suspect that many, if not most, of the horror stories of what pot smokers have done are based on people who smoked pot while drinking alcohol. In such a case it would not matter much if they were smoking tobacco instead. There are countless disasters brought about by those who smoke tobacco and drink alcohol but the tobacco has little or nothing to do with the disaster. I have consumed enough alcohol to float a sizable boat but I don’t think alcohol would stand any chance of legalization if it were a new thing and neither would tobacco.
There are still a lot of illegal sellers and growers he can go after. All these legalization schemes were supposed to put these cartels out of business, but didn’t.
Well. That was both stupid and untrue.
This whole thing is a waste of resources. Prohibition doesn’t work as we saw with alcohol.
