Bannon Responds: 'I Support' Trump 'Day in and Day Out'

Steve Bannon responded to President Donald Trump's blistering assault by calling the president "a great man" and saying, "I support him day in and day out."

Bannon, former White House chief strategist, made the comments on SiriusXM's "Breitbart News Tonight" show hours after the Trump administration unleashed a multi-tiered blitzkrieg of rebukes and condemnation against him for his explosive remarks in Michael Wolff's new book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House."

But Bannon remained nonplussed and steadfast in his support of the president.

"The President of the United States is a great man," Bannon said on Breitbart News Tonight."

"You know I support him day in and day out, whether going through the country giving the Trump Miracle Speech or on the show or on the website," Bannon said, responding to a caller.

Bannon again early Thursday reiterated his continued support of the president.

"Nothing will ever come between us and President Trump and his agenda," Bannon said on Breitbart Radio, CNN reported. "We're tight on this agenda as we've ever been."

This so-called "defense" is as ineffectual as Judge Moore's defense against sexual allegations.

It's not strong enough, its not clear enough, and its vagueness leads credence to the veracity of the statements.

Most Trump supporters I’ve encountered don’t care one way or the other about Bannon.

That, and all the crap in this book is now ‘old news’. Yes, left, we’ve learned to use that now, too, thanks for the lesson.

>> Bannon is a patriot <<

Yeah, but even a sincere patriot can indulge in fatally self-destructive behavior.

Steve can’t be well.

This unshaven hobo look is a message that is not compelling, but rather distracting to his grumbling message, similar to the way the leggy FOX Rockettes are distracting to their message.

Bannon rode in on Trump’s coat tails And now wants to wear the pants, as well. Not going to happen. Not ever.

With this dominating the news, I am anxious to see the next great thing Trump accomplishes while everyone is preoccupied with “Bannon said”. Whether Bannon said this or not, it provides cover.

Yes, and how many hours after the fact? Remember Hannity two days after delivering his 24 hour ultimatum?

There is no such thing as instant karma. Your point has no bearing on what might be at play. The fact is, we just don’t know, now do we?

No denial. No saying the book is trash

Bannon got what he wanted a chance to burn everything down. Problem is the rest of the country doesn’t agree with him

Bannon the ultimate egotist

I’m wondering if he made those negative comments to Wolff while under the influence of alcohol. He looks like a heavy drinker......

Somehow I think a WH insider writing a “tell all” book about the president after being fired.... will always be considered “news”.

Bannon is an arrogant self centered opportunist. He may have been a patriot at one time. Today he is only interested in burning it all down (his words). That ain’t patriotic

>> he’s in on pulling one of the most convoluted bits of Machiavellian misdirection in history. <<

For sure. It’s no longer just “3-D” chess. It’s N-dimensional meta-chess in hyperspace.

Well put. There are Trump supporters who are 110% dedicated to the man and to the cause, and there are those who, while supportive, are also in it for what they can get out of it (money, power, ego). This is always the case in administrations.

Bannon looks more and more like the latter type.

Some of what he was quoted as saying was stuff that could not be taken out of context, like his assertion that Don Jr committed treason and such. Read the quotes. Did you hear a correction from Bannon? Nope.

Luther Strange would have easily won that seat as any Republican from Alabama would who didn’t perv on teenager girls as a grown man. I gave Moore the benefit of the doubt, but anyone with a functioning BS meter who heard all the hemming and hawing in the Hannity interview could see the writing on the wall.

We’re in the business of winning. Strange voted for the tax cut/Obamacare mandate repeal. He voted for all Trump’s judicial appointments. For all the caterwauling that he was a McConnell stooge, he never bucked Trump once in his short time there.

Bannon pushed Moore because he’s a reckless self-promoter who wanted to establish himself as the defacto party leader. He stood to receive all of the benefit and glory if Moore won while we assumed all the risk if he didn’t.

Well, the worst case scenario unfolded, and not only are we left holding the bag, but here he is flapping his gums to liberal reporters, just like the very first thing he did on the eve of his firing with his interview to the American Prospect and likely did the entire time he was in the White House in the form of leaks in his machivellian attempt to surreptitiously manipulate personnel changes. You may have noticed that practically all the daily leaks from the WH dried up once he was canned.
