Thanks, Dolly for all you do and getting us a new thread every week. Thanks, to everyone else on the train.
Choo, choo, the 2018 Trump Train!
You go above and beyond.
Posted a funny cartoon wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR on the old thread so won't repost same one even tho it was classic.
Many thanks, dear Dolly for ALL of the wonderful Trump Train FRamily threads.
Its so nice to have this fellowship to share all things POTUS, personal stories, etc.
Have a wonderful 2018 and MANY blessings, to everyone!
Oh, how wonderful that POTUS and family have had a very nice and peaceful and relaxing time during these very special holidays. They have been in my prayers.
Will be leaving Florida for Washington (D.C.) today at 4:00 P.M. Much work to be done, but it will be a great New Year!
Yes, it will be a GREAT year since you are our President.
*Subject:* *Pool Report No. 1 - Happy 2018!*
Happy New Year from a cool and crisp Palm Beach where your press pool departed Mar-a-Lago behind President Trumps motorcade just before 8:45 am.
POTUS pulled into Trump International Golf Club at approximately 8:51 am.
We are now heading to you guessed it, IHOP for what we “all” need this morning: Greasy breakfast food.
Something interesting to note is parked next to Air Force One at the local airport is a private jet emblazoned with the Trump logo.
Your pooler will ask for details of the presidents day up until his afternoon return to Washington, and will report back as soon as I know.
Because POTUS started his day at Mar-a-Lago, the NBC News tracker tells your pooler this is his 117th day at a Trump property as president. It is also his 91st day at a golf club as president.
Happy 2018, everyone!
I don’t ever REMEMBER the press counting how many times Obummer golfed or how many days he took on vacation.
But I’m old and maybe it’s just my old brain...ya that must be it.
RIGHT!!
*Subject:**Travel pool 6 Trump on NoKo: “We’ll see”*
POTUS dropped in on the New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago tonight at 9:25 p.m., strolling past the assembled media pool and delivering very brief remarks. Asked for what his thoughts on North Korea’s claims about developing its nuclear force, he said, “We’ll see.”
“Hello everybody. Happy new year. I think youre going to go in and take some pictures of the crowd. Great crowd. Were going to have a great year. Were goIng to have a fantastic 2018. Were off to a very good start, as you know, with the great tax cuts and ANWR and getting rid of the individual mandate, which is very, very unpopular, as you know. But we are going to have a tremendous year. Stock market, I think, is going to continue to go up. Companies are going to continue to come into the country. And they’re doing it now, soon to be a record clip. So we look forward to seeing you inside. Come on along.
On North Korea leader Kim Jong Un’s claim that he has a nuclear button on his desk, and that the weapons can reach the United States: Well see, well see. Come on inside.
A bit of color (with an assist from NYT’s Emily Cochrane) for the curious:
POTUS and Barron were both in tuxedos. Melania had a full length rose gold glittery gown with floral accents.
Guests attended a cocktail reception near a swimming pool before the dinner. A red carpet led into the Grand Ballroom, where the dinner was held, and several guests confused the White House press corp for paparazzi (easy mistake), and stopped and posed for the cameras.
Guests arrivedin full formal attire, many clutching champagne flutes and martini glasses. There was a lot of glitter — full length gowns, clutches, shoes for women and a couple of the men — and many of the women had fur stoles, some of them floor length. Louise Linton, wife of Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, was one of them, with a short white dress and white fur caplet.Screens televised the crowd at Times Square, while a cover band played.
Among the attendees: Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner (who wished the press corp a happy new year) and their two oldest children, Arabella and Joseph; Eric and Lara Trump; Don Jr. and his eldest son, Don III; Mr. Mnuchin (who promised 2018 will be “great”) and his wife. Former NY Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez said hello, Fox Business host Lou Dobbs smiled, and Dr. Eric Kaplan, who claims to be the most-followed chiropractor on Twitter, stopped and chatted, too.
The menu tonight started with Trump Iceberg Wedge (roquefort, grape tomatoes, bacon, red onion) followed by a second course of Maine Lobster Ravioli (with fennel mousseline, olive & citrus verjus sauce). The third course was 7X Sliced Tenderloin & Pan-Seared Sea Bass (with taro root puree, morel mushrooms, roasted heirloom carrots, sweet cheries & burgundy jus). For dessert: Baked Alaska.
Happy new year everyone!
*Subject:* Travel pool 4: POTUS security briefing
White House sends along this statement, from spokeswoman Helen Ferre:
“The president has been briefed on security measures that are being taken by federal, state and local authorities to help ensure a safe and festive New Years Eve. We will continue to monitor throughout the night.”

America Prayer Vigil

IMO praying for IRANian people is also a prayer for America
You got that right.
And definitely the opposite for us.
I don’t know these are the type of threads started when GW Bush was president look how he turned out I feel like it has a bad mojo.
Happy New Year and thank you! Hope you’re keeping warm.
Yes, I’ve been praying for the Iranian people.
At another wifi on my way back in to where I am staying for a time. Temps in LOW singles digits and high winds and snow are not fun. The roads are not in good shape
I find I can do FB on my phone the easiest..not here or DEFINITELY not any google or other searches . I see about 5% of all pix posted. That is why this thread is so barren.. I had to use what I could see and actually went to daily mail for the pix. Again my apologies. The past 3 weeks have been rich with archival memories to share but I guess they are IN THE THREADS
I am for the time being staying with friends about an hour away from my home. NO WIFI there and they are remote (to say the least). Their drive way from road to home is about 1/2 mile and it is right now blanketed with snow and ice. I only left to post Porch at TRR and here
I find it so hard to get to wifi any more. It is brutally cold here and it is a long drive in to get to wifi. I must drive into my area 3 times a week to feed & water my ferals (sigh, yes, I KNOW, I KNOW)... My wine demo-ing jo is phasing out it appears. Not sure for now
I will check in when I can and send my love and best wishes to all.. you have become very special to me and I realize that most of you also have constraints for various reasons.
Lets ALL just check in with a brief note when we can.
hugs/love from NE OHIO
