Not true...
Many are harder to get than basic medals.
They reflect pride in mission and unit.

At my son’s Eagle Court of Honor, he was presented with a Challenge Coin from where I worked as a contractor to the Air Force. It meant a lot to my son. So, thanks for the kind words, like “participation trophy”.
