HOUSTON - A man has been arrested on multiple charges after police located a small arsenal of guns on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency on Louisiana Street downtown, Houston police said.
Police at the hotel called for backup around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after they attempted to arrest the man for being intoxicated and trespassing. When help arrived, police noticed ammunition laying around the man's hotel room, Lt. Gordon Macintosh with Houston police said.
The man was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon and trespassing. When investigators looked into his room further, they located an AR-15, a shotgun, a handgun and lots of ammunition, Macintosh said.
The Hyatt is preparing its own New Years Eve celebration at the hotel with a 50,000 balloon drop at the stroke of midnight, its website said.

There were multiple shooters seen in Las Vegas by victims, and why would FBI shoot innocent civilians? Any sting should have been revealed and all this ‘cloak and dagger’ lies stopped. Victims deserve truth.
I’m not at all suggesting that the FBI would shoot innocent people.
I am suggesting that the FBI was cultivating an individual that fit a certain profile.
Someone that they could hold up as a success story.
A success story that paints a White American Male as a Terrorist in order to diffuse the idea that all terrorists are Islamic.
IMHO, the FBI worked him up to commit a mass killing and at some point dropped him.
I’m not much for conspiracy’s, but it’s the only thing that makes any sense.
I think that the FBI set him up for a weapon sale to terrorists, and the SHTF, when security guard showed up, and the terrorists got the weapons, and shot the people....FBI Cover up for their part in doing this nonsense, imho.
That might be too simple, but something went wrong, and many died. There were several people from Saudi Arabia arrested that week, and one Prince was in that hotel per an article I read...something was going on that is classified.
I’m not aware of the details you have suggested.
However, considering the lack of information regarding a motive in this case, I’ve been more and more convinced that the Shooter was an FBI “target”. Someone that they could hold out/up as a success story in their effort to paint an average White American Gun enthusiast as a Domestic Terrorist.
They wound him up and lost control.
Let me guess. The shotgun was a Mossburg Pump 12 gauge, able to hold five cartridges in the magazine? Woooo! From the top floor of a hotel that’s got serious stopping power./s
Your judgement would obviously be impaired if you staggered to the door drunk and threw it open for a cop. (And you would probably be wise to consider professional help.)
No arrogantass, they don’t. If you want to see a idiot, just look in the mirror.
Good one.
Apparently you are blind to bizarre situations. This is one no matter how you cut it.
So I was correct. Happy New Year.
“Hobo with a Shotgun” should have won an oscar!
I miss your point or criticism.
My point is this event was bizarre from start to finish, so much so that law enforcement was naturally involved, there was no over-stepping reasonable concerns.
I might have 2 of those 3 nearby when I am home.
I have been to a shooting range (tournament)during the day and have had to stay over in a hotel room with my weapons. Not uncommon for me to have several ARs, pistols and long rangers along for the ride.
However, you will not find me drunk, down stairs in the bar and ammunition laying about my room. After a day at the range I am ready to kick my heels up and lay my head back. Oh, and I normally stay at two story roach coach not some fancy smancy high rise.
With people like you I am so glad I got my still
He did not say that you just again read something into somebodies post that was not in there. You have a habit of doing this.
Has to be something like that. Or the cops decided they weren’t taking any chances, locked him up on some BS knowing it’d get tossed and would worry about him getting a lawyer, down the road.
Which, under the circumstances, probably wouldn’t go too far anyway, in Texas.
We don’t need gun reform. We need bellhops to wake the hell up and pay attention to what’s coming in the damn doors.

Police in Houston arrested a man on Sunday who was allegedly found to have multiple firearms and ammunition in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Houston. While multiple media outlets have reported that the hotel hosts one of the largest New Year’s Eve party in Houston, police have indicated that the man did not pose any specific threats to Houston or to any New Year’s Eve party.
Additionally, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the downtown George R. Brown convention center, which is currently hosting the Houston GRB Gun and Knife Show, which is the largest gun show in Houston.
