Several reports indicate that telecoms providers in Iran have begun blocking internet access across several cities in the country as mass protests erupted for the third day in a row.
Among the telecoms company was Hamrahe Aval, the primary Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MTCI or MCI) as social media continues to play a pivotal role in documenting mass protests and subsequent brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters in the country.

well what should Trump do now? He gave a good speech to UN about how Iran is mostly afraid of its own people. But what can or should he do? We need a plan.
In keeping with President Trump’s attempts at the undoing of obama legacies (nightmares) including the installing Islamofacist regimes throughout the Middle East, we should do what we can to support the protestors if they truly want to end the mullah’s rule over them.
I agree that we need a plan, and I am confident that Trump is working on one instead of ignoring the Iranian freedom movement like barry did.

Sounds unlikely, in a country of 80 million. They were probably exaggerating to scare their people. Iran’s GDP is equivalent to Alabama’s, and they are funding a nuclear program, wars in Syria, Iraq and Yemen; and widespread corruption in Government (which runs more than half of their economy).
Also, when the tipping point comes, members of the security forces start joining the other side. The regular military (not the Republican Guards or Bassij) and police will be big bellwethers of which way the wind is blowing. So will desertions from the Bassij or Pasdaran (Republican Guards).
Remember when the Soviet military (much bigger and badder than their Iranian counterparts) was called out to defend communism, but refused to fire, and Boris Yeltsin got up on a tank to speak with a bullhorn? Magic moments...

It is said there are 32 Amateur station in Iran.
Now, in some countries they only have club stations. Individuals don't own the station, but use the club station. Often at a university.
In the US you can build your own if you have the skills and want to. It is rarely done now, but I'm old enough to remember that. Have done it. Have built many from scratch projects.
If you are interested, it is a great hobby. Many of the operators were military trained (old days), today it is easy for a non technical person to get a license.
Learning Morse Code is not a technical skill. It is a conditioning and perceptual skill. Easy for some, next to impossible for others. It takes time and practice to get good at it.
The International Telecommunication Union developed standard. For a very long time in order to have HF (high frequency) privileges you were required to know Morse Code.
I hold an Amateur Extra license and a commercial radio license.
From what I’ve read, she was not alone in using ham radios. Not sure the others had a license or not. Possibly already did. I found out after this issue was fist brought up that in fact it had nothing to do with HF. I suspect it was local point to point direct signal exchanges.
I thought originally they might have used a VHF/UHF gateway to the web to talk to Steele. that is possible. The rumors I’ve heard said that was not the case.
