Something profound is happening throughout Iran, and the Western mass media are just not reporting it.
For some time now, protests by ordinary Iranians have become a daily routine. These protesters include workers who have not been paid wages or have become redundant; savers who have lost their savings in Iran's many quasi-banks, which are infested with corruption and embezzlement; people concerned about the environmental disaster Iran is fast becoming; people protesting rising prices; retired pensioners whose retirement funds have been plundered by successive administrations; and low-income people who can no longer make ends meet.
These protesters are across the spectrum of Iranian society. The protests are getting larger, and their chants are becoming more radical

That's my hope. I was appalled, outraged and embarrassed for my country when Obama turned his back on the Iranian Green Movement.

Note, I came to using Twitter as a news source during the 2009 #IranElection phase. That was after the Mullahs “stole” the election. Everybody knew it.
Thousands of good young Persian people were arrested, estimated 1/2 of them were never seen again.
Let no one tell you that the Mullahs are peaceful. It has been reported by friends of mine that 10,000 people have been hanged under the Mullahs since then.
In my opinion, a few transport loads of AK47’s and ammo with a few RPG’s would bring the war alive.

Can you imagine how the arc of history in the mid-East would have been radically different had the Obama regime provided clandestine military/financial aid to the Iranian people protesting in 2009? Instead the Obama regime’s primary goals were to help support the Iranian Islamic dictatorship by all means possible.
Now that would be a regime change I might agree with.
Well it is blowing up Twitter. Even Faux News is not reporting it. All that CNN can worry about is the stupid delivery truck and a 10 month old ridiculous story about David Clarke.
I was stationed there from 72-74. Didn’t think too much about the isolation from home but the country did have a very vibrant westernized society with still the foot steeped in world history.
The snow skiing was unbelievably excellent and in times of no snow, we would travel as far and wide as we could on our 3 days on, 3 days off schedule.
As for return of a Shah, not going to happen. I have been following the Crown Price Reza Pahlavi for a long time who lives in DC in exile and he has consistently called for the representative republic form of government that was originally promised to get the people on board to overthrow his father.
His father made sure he was educated in such. I first learned of Reza through a skiing friend of ours who was there to be his math tutor. The problem with the Shah’s plans are he was too far out in front of the traditional Shiite anchors in the rural and small cities. Tehran was very metropolitan for where it was then.
No wonder the left aligns with the Iran; it’s a lot like communism there.
Corrupt with lots of graft; just like the American (elite) left likes it. The clinton’s and obama’s would be right at home in that environment.
The protestors aren’t Islamists so it is not a brand of ‘democracy’ Obama was willing to protect.
We are not. The first to make a statement of support was Tom Cotton. The only negative vote on the Corker debacle.
Then came along Paul Ryan followed by an official document from DoS presented by Heather Nauert. Then last evening a tweet from the President himself specific to them.
