NEW YORK, NY A child playing with a stove started a massive fire that killed a dozen people in the Bronx Thursday night, officials said Friday morning.

I’m ready to put my condo up for sale.....the tenants above me are retarded....the father does not work....and they have a kid that runs up and down the unit all day....they never go out....the landlord is an a$$hole for renting to these inconsiderate morons.....their bedroom is above my garage which I occasionally open @ 2am....next will be a 24/7 boom box......
you can purchase covers to place on the stove dials to keep your child safe.
I manage apartments. The odors that come from their apartments do smell better than the cigarette odor coming from other apartments.
As far as bugs they cooperate with our exterminator as well as anyone else.
Now they do leave their apartments dirty just like almost every other person that lives here.
They do try to bargain scapula deals. That’s irritating but other than that they aren’t much different.
Thank you.
Now that’s just wrong. All three year olds are dangerous in the kitchen. The mother is at fault for not minding her tot but a fire can happen in any class if you don’t pay attention to the baby..
When we were kids my brother played with a box of stick matches he somehow got hold of and caught his bedroom curtain on fire........mom yanked it down and put it out but kids just do stuff like that.
I think in some wealthy areas you could get good tenants, but youd pay a LOT for the property.
EXACTLY right!
One of the best tenants we had was a somewhat elderly Hispanic couple who scrimped and saved, then bought a modest house not far from my condo. They and their daughter and grandchildren were SO proud. I was very happy for them. And very sad for us. Last good tenant we ever had.
Wow... I feel your pain, from years ago when I lived in a condo. The noise and low-class (non-owner) tenants around me never seemed to end. Hope you can sell your place.
There is a rental home next to our house. They just fixed it all up with new cabinets, carpeting, new bathrooms, etc.
An Indian couple and their two kids live there now. The cooking smell is terrible - it wafts over towards us once-in-awhile.
A friend that has rentals says he won’t rent to Indians anymore - you have to replace all the carpeting, prime and paint, etc. to try to get the smell out!
I’m sorry for your loss, but glad you kept them as nearby neighbors; at least the house went to people you’re comfortable around!
It seems most new construction in my area is apartment building where the units are all small; towns here seem to realize the economic burden of children in terms of the education costs (thanks to the teachers’ unions), and are looking for childless tenants (retirees or yuppies) instead.
Sure; either replace everything, or find other Indian tenants. A friend described Chinese tenants who were great in terms of behavior, paying rent on time and such; the only problem was that after they left he had to remove a thick film of grease from the kitchen floor because they’d cook with a wok (spattering grease everywhere)...
