Looking in PACER right now. Case # 1:2017-cr-00161.
Looks like clerk deleted and reentered entry # 42, because # 42 is now listed after entry #43. Here is what entry #42 says:
MINUTE ORDER: Upon consideration of the government’s 41 Motion to Continue Status Hearing as to IMRAN AWAN (1) and HINA ALVI (2); it is hereby ordered that the motion is GRANTED. The Status Hearing currently set for Thursday, November 30, 2017 is now RESCHEDULED to Monday, January 8, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. before Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Courtroom (CHANGE) 9 on the fourth floor, and it is further ordered that based on the parties’ representation, the Court finds in the interest of justice (XT) that the time between 11/30/17 and 01/08/18 shall be excluded from the speedy trial calculation. SO ORDERED - by Judge Tanya S. Chutkan on 11/29/17. ( DISREGARD THE DOCKET ENTRY NUMBER 42, NO PAPER ORDER ATTACHED. Modified on 11/30/2017 (tb). (Entered: 11/29/2017)
Here is the current last entry on the docket (entry # 45):
12/18/2017 45 Memorandum in Opposition by USA as to IMRAN AWAN re 44 MOTION to Modify Conditions of Release (Marando, Michael) (Entered: 12/18/2017)
So I’m not sure what this is about. The rescheduling to 1/8/2018 is still mentioned in entry #42.
There normally would not be a separate listing for the 1/8/2018 hearing outcome until the hearing concludes. The clerks like to try to keep things in chronological order in the docket listing. So they wait until after a hearing concludes to document the hearing results in a docket entry so that other possible events occurring prior to the hearing will be entered into PACER in chronological order. Not sure what I am missing.
Here is a mirror site that holds a refresh of the docket contents if you don’t have a PACER account:
https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/6140499/united-states-v-awan/
(not sure how often that mirror site gets updated for that case but the mirror looks up to date as of now).
