"voters can rally together at the ballot box to boot her back to coach."

Not much chance of that happening.

Jackson Lee was elected to serve the Texas 18th Congressional District.

District Ethnicity: 7.2% White; 36.4% Black; 3.9% Asian; 42.7% Hispanic; 0.36% Native American; 9.4% other

You can see in the map below that the Texas 18th congressional district is one of those convoluted, gerrymandered monstrosities
designed solely for the purpose of ensuring that a minority will be elected.

Actually, she would have lost to a Hispanic in her primary the last couple times by as her district was redrawn post-2010 to have more Hispanics in it. However, every time she looks like she’s going to lose a primary or general election, ‘something’ seems to happen - voter fraud, a mysterious fire that destroys the voting machinery, etc., etc.

42.7% Hispanic

Surely there is an up and coming Hispanic conservative who can challenge her. S/he will have the tax bill as a great example of how government is for once actually doing something for the people of the 18th district, asking them what the, uh, heck SJL has ever really done for them.
