Like many other blue state conservatives, this tax bill has me really angry. At least it appears the final bill won’t hit me as hard as the house bill would have. But reality is, our anger should really be directed at the Democrat party that refused to work with Republicans on this tax bill. It is unbelievable that not a single Democrat was willing to negotiate with Republicans to protect tax payers in their states. With a little Democrat help, we might have gotten deeper cuts to offset the elimination of deductions.
I do understand how you feel living in a Blue State with this Tax bill. But this was a great tax bill, for corporations, small business and most Americans. It was never fair for Blue states to write off their huge State tax dollars at the expense of Red States.
Now all states are on an even plane. Maybe that Blue state you live in will lower their taxes....but of course we are talking Democrat governed states so don’t hold your breath.
One good thing even for Blue states is the economy should sizzle this next year, increasing wages and stock market and jobs.
Even better would be moving to a red state!
Time to move - or when people in those blue states start getting their tax bills, start a movement to hold your blue state government accountable for the tax dollars being paid.
No, you should be angry at the politicians that run your state for saddling you with astronomical state and local taxes.
