This makes me think of the dozens of people that were arrested in Saudi Arabia two months ago including billionaire princes. I am certain this is related.

Deep background: the Saudis used to be able to affect the market price of oil all by their lonesome. They took a gamble a few years back, that by cranking up their spigots, they could drive the US frackers out of business. Obama and Hillary would help.

But the underestimated US resourcefulness, because the frackers adapted.

Then Trump got elected.

The current Crown Prince saw the writing on the wall: Saudi Arabia is doomed unless they can diversify their economy: and rich rulers do poorly when the economy tanks and they are surrounded by, well, by highly motivated people.

Hence the "Palace Revolution" (and the attempted assassination in Las Vegas, which was barely thwarted in time and turned into a mass shooting).

So during the revolution, one of the Saudi billionaires was supposedly hung upside down by his ankles and beaten with baseball bats or somesuch.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he talked...
