Trump has the winning hand.
The frenzied demeanor of MSNBC et al. coupled with editorials by such as Holder and Yates, indicate that the targets within the swamp *know* what's coming: but that they can't defend the other members of the swamp by name lest they suffer even greater legal repercussions.

Sorry but I don't see whether Trump knew if he was being surveilled would have kept him from being surprised that Rosenstein appointed Mueller less than 24 hours after being given the authority to do so.

There's no way to know where this is headed. As you can see here, we can't even agree on where the battle lines are drawn. But the sources I quote are simply Trump, his supporters in Congress and the media, and on the other side those defending the DOJ starting with Sessions. If you simply listen to them, it's clear where the battle lines are.

It is starting to appear that way, but that is definitely a change in McConnell's demeanor. We could also eventually see changes from Sessions, if not even Mueller. But if we do, it will be because they were beaten into submission, not because they were part of some grand conspiracy to work together in secret while giving every indication they were actually at odds.

Even lawyers would be speculating, but it sure looks like planned punishment for some that are likely worthy of it, and could be targeted specifically for those like the Clintons. However, any time a weapon is created, it has to be carefully controlled, else it be applied to some that aren't deserving. As some pointed out, "human rights violations" could be quite subjective.

Trump knew 'muh Russia' aka the dirty dossier was the proximate cause for the wire tapping (his vernacular). Ergo, logically it would later be used to justify both the recusal & SC appointment, and re-purposed as an impeachment vehicle after the FBI/DOJ failed to prevent his election. It's all very elementary: false statements procure warrant -> wire-tapping leads to appointment of (illegal) SC -> fight against illegal SC sets up charges of obstruction of justice -> political theater = impeachment. This was the play book for Watergate - the deep state is neither that bright or innovative, so they trotted out the same old stale script. Anyone even remotely aware of the routine would have recognized this back in January.

Sadly GE, this is where you're beginning to omit a slight whiff of #NeverTrump. If you cannot, or will not, recognize or accept that Trump has already won, then you are going to quickly earn recognition as negative Eeyore.
