With the Carolina Panthers surprisingly soon to be on the market, the franchise is getting interest from a few unexpected new potential owners, including Sean "Diddy" Combs, Stephen Curry, and now Colin Kaepernick.

Current owner Jerry Richardson announced on Sunday that he would be selling the team after a report from Sports Illustrated revealed accusations of sexual misconduct and the use of a racial slur.

Hip hop mogul and entrepreneur Sean "Diddy" Combs was one of the first high-profile celebrities to express interest in owning the team, tweeting out on Sunday night "I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!" to his 13.9 million followers.

Shortly after that, NBA superstar Stephen Curry threw his hat in the ring, quote-tweeting Diddy's original message and adding "I want in!"

Kapernick could be a part owner? Then he can play too, and can’t be released or traded or benched. Interesting.....

Connie Mack managed the Philadelphia Athletics, and George Halas coached the Chicago Bears, for decades, because they owned the teams, and couldn’t be fired. Capernick may be in such position, first as a player, then as front office GM / owner when his playing days are over. He may be in our faces for years and years to come.........

Years ago when another team came up for sale Rush said one had to be worth billions to afford to buy one.

D. Piddy has a net worth of about $800 million.

He really doesn’t have the money he needs to do much of a buy-in.

Perhaps we can help him by initiating a petition encouraging him to sell both of his kidneys...

With the funds he can place a larger investment in the Panthers...

I LOVE the idea!

When it was revealed that Richardson used a racial slur, the world was outraged. Diddy of course said “ni$$a please”.

According to Forbes Diddy’s worth $820 mil, of course that was back in May, he’s probably worth more now.

Yeah, the franchise is sure to be worth more than $1B. Puff Daddy is rich, but he would need a few more partners. The NFL would probably like that to happen, as a social experiment. The other owners might not mind either.

They would be a disaster on the field, as sports isn't too accommodating to secondary goals. Winning is all that matters; social justice is a distraction.

“According to Forbes”

Online net worths are always ridiculously inflated. Cut it in half and then cut it in half again and you’ll be in the ballpark.

As a former fan, I now despise the NFL. I would rather watch paint dry.
