Least remember Chertoff and his association with the only company approved for airport screening equipment, while he was DHS Secretary.
Knew some people in DHS who were very happy their investigative and security work was of great value when Tom Ridge was the boss. Then everything went upside down when Chertoff moved in. Got rid of the security experts and then brought in nothing but lawyers.
Since the ATF has a reputation for missing firearms, bomb detectors cannot be 100% reliable either.
