Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has been admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for recovery from the side effects of another round of treatment for brain cancer, according to his office.
McCain, who missed a third straight day of Senate votes Wednesday, has been undergoing rounds of chemotherapy and radiation to treat glioblastoma, the terminal form of brain cancer he was diagnosed with in July. McCain has been undergoing treatments since early September at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, next to Walter Reed.
Two friends close to McCain, requesting anonymity to speak about his condition, said there were no plans for the senator to resign. In a statement issued from his office, McCain hopes to return to work as soon as possible.
Republican leaders expect to hold a vote early next week on the sweeping tax-cut plan that is currently in a House-Senate negotiation. The Senate version initially passed with 51 votes. If McCain missed the vote on final passage, Republicans would not be able to afford a single additional defection or absence to pass the legislation.

Why do we need another demonrat vote? Biden admitted on The View yesterday he and McRino have the same view points.
Oh my. FOX News is talking about this right now. Saying they’ve wheeled in others just to vote so they could with McLame.
Hard to do if you are brainless!
See Cochran, Thad...
Comments at article are interesting, considering WaPo’s readership demographics.
Do all these congress people that go to Walter Reed get free medical care or are they paying for it. I’m betting the former.
As my dear old Irish grandmother taught me:if you don’t have anything nice to say...
I think some have been brought in on stretchers with no proof that they are conscious or alive for that matter.
There are two ways to take what I said. My intent was to say that he is mentally ill (delusions, megalomania, etc) and has been for some time.
Jesus’ words were far more conciliatory than mine.
There isnt any chemotherapy as we know it for brain tumors because of something known as the blood/brain barrier. The brain has its own blood system independent of the body. Glioblastoma is treated with chemo wafers Implanted around the tumor, which really isnt a tumor but fingers of tumor that insidiously and rapidly take over brain area. The chemo wafers give on the average three months of extended life. I would think that why he is in the hospital is that they have gone back in and resectioned the tumor again, trying to reduce its size, and have probably implanted more wafers. Every time there is an invasion into a persons brain, there is ALWAYS a remaining deficit.
I’m sorry about it, but you needed to retire a long time ago. You, Mitch, Lindsey are the poster child for term limits...Besides Kelly Ward any other Conservatives in Arizona?
Your right...
I got mixed up with
