Christie won his first election as New Jersey governor in 2009 largely on the strength of his anti-corruption campaign as a Federal prosecutor. His office successfully prosecuted two county executives and three state senators among the 200+ public officials whose cases ended in convictions or guilty pleas (without a single acquittal, I believe).
That is something, but would he go after federal crooks?
I don’t know.
But that is a good record, I do admit.
