With these revelations, I’ve been wondering what percentage of men in our nation would take advantage of women if they knew they could get away with it. See post #4 of this thread. THAT is the percentage I’m wondering about. Most men are socialized not to admit to it, but how many would do it if they could?
The other percentage, perhaps more relevant, is what percentage of men seek political office or other power positions for the express purpose of abusing others. Sociopaths experience a thrill in FORCING people to do things; they wouldn’t like it half as much if people were willing. These power brokers have women who are willing to sleep with them to get ahead but that doesn’t meet the socipathic drive to see a woman helpless and horrified but unable to escape.
He had been a pig for decades
She is a pig too she loved getting mauled by the old man
She had a full beard thats for sure
Had a buddy that was a News Director — VP at a television station. He loved to say that the Ron Burgundy crap was right on and that a good percentage of the on air personalities we ding-dongs.
He did say that this was why when you got a good anchor, you paid them as much as you could to keep them.
It’s about power.
Thats right. Thanks! I dont know which was worse, those nasty photos on the floor of some cheesy motel I think, or the fact that he released her onto the world.
I'm with you. The other extreme is Mohammedism with veiled women and honor killings. We can't let it head there either.
An ordinary wolf whistle is not disrespectful. But Mexicans take it to a whole different level with lewd hand gestures and sucking noises. "This is why we can't have nice things."
Yeah, I agree. A guy can be a guy and a gentlemen at the same time. It has never occurred to me to grab someone’s body parts, either, even when I was a hormone-raged teenager.
They were cheesy like old stag film pics. Not the high art of the modern selfie...
Ballance betrayed a trust by making them public.
Trial by media and found guilty almost instantaneously.
This is not a good trend no matter if the accused is democrat or republican.
Where is the due process?
The accusers aren’t all saints with infallible recollection.
People sometimes remember things incorrectly, just plain forget things, lie, exaggerate, and fabricate events.
Not always but often enough.
And if you are the person being unjustly accused even once is one time too many.
Unless the accused admits to sexual harassment no one should be punished in any way without evidence to back up allegations against them as well as have an equal opportunity to refute charges.
Now we have men being accused of sexual harrassment because women felt they were leered at years ago.
.
I think it would be similar to what you see in Islamic countries, or in Eastern Europe, or Latin America. Some men would be nice to women - the majority wouldn't. In other words, the default state of humanity... outside of white European Puritan paternalist America. :)
What's interesting is how viciously feminism attacks the latter, which it is utterly dependent upon for its continued existence.
