Where have you been? It's from an L.A. Times article back in September. The left brought it up again last week. The quote from the Times was: “I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery — they cared for one another…. Our families were strong, our country had a direction.”
That quote, which was taken fully out of context, gleefully excerpted out of a Moore speech, and repeated ad infinitum by the enemies of America, was fully responded to (although you never hear about the responses, do you? Of course not. Only the enemies of MAGA like to repeat them!):

Roy Moore’s purported comments that America was last ‘great’ under slavery go viral

Vox reached out to Hannah Ford, deputy campaign manager for Moore, and asked her if Moore really thought the last time America was “great” was when it still had slavery.

Ford was quoted by Vox as saying: "To suggest such is recklessly malicious. Judge Moore clearly made his point: America is great when our families are united, as in the husband and wife committed to each other and raising their children to be good citizens."
