If you haven’t already, please check out Gleen Greenwald’s article in the Intercept online, link below. First, he absolutely scathes the media over their reporting and their methods on this and related recent stories. Second, he documents how several of the most prominent media outlets all reported that they had 2 independently verified sources for the Sept 4 date. So this notion that there was 1 error or 1 typo doesn’t hold up unless every single outlet that reported this flat out lied in a big way and broke their journalistic ethics in the process.

Greenwald is no conservative. He is a former Guardian UK reporter who broke the Edward Snowden story. But he is imo a 1st class journalist who values the truth and considers the 4th estate a necessary check on an abusive government.
