Sub-Headline:
With Twitter as his Excalibur, the president takes on his doubters, powered by long spells of cable news and a dozen Diet Cokes. But if Mr. Trump has yet to bend the presidency to his will, he is at least wrestling it to a draw.

Energized, infuriated often a gumbo of both Mr. Trump grabs his iPhone. Sometimes he tweets while propped on his pillow, according to aides. Other times he tweets from the den next door, watching another television. Less frequently, he makes his way up the hall to the ornate Treaty Room, sometimes dressed for the day, sometimes still in night clothes, where he begins his official and unofficial calls.
As he ends his first year in office, Mr. Trump is redefining what it means to be president. He sees the highest office in the land much as he did the night of his stunning victory over Hillary Clinton as a prize he must fight to protect every waking moment, and Twitter is his Excalibur. Despite all his bluster, he views himself less as a titan dominating the world stage than a maligned outsider engaged in a struggle to be taken seriously, according to interviews with 60 advisers, associates, friends and members of Congress.
GLENN THRUSH????? Already graduated from the Sexual Harassment Education Camp?
I know. Seems like his “punishment” didn’t last too long. What a POS that guy is.
Thrush is still suspended. The end of the article notes that his “contribution” was provided prior to his timeout.
Ok, thanks.
I thought Glenn Thrush was in exile, due to sexual harassment complaints.
Well, I guess the New York Times had to bring him back to continue the important work of bashing our President.
I love that
He watches CNN for news - she starts out the article with a laugh, at least.
Well gosh! Who wouldn’t believe NYTimes’ anonymous sources about President Trump’s activities?.
He is redefining what it means to be president! He is keeping his campaign promises and is working for what is best for the American citizens!
Poor Glenn...doesn't even know the first year is up in the second half of *next* month.
Like the ridiculous "Tillerson is out!" article last month, the NY Times is once again running another article that has no basis in fact.
The NY Times has no access to Trump's inner circle. They have no clue about Trump's daily schedule.
The NY Times is just making this stuff up as they go, and the above quote shows that they aren't even clever about it.
I like that as well...Imagine Trump with a light-saber going through the senate cleaving rinos and dems in two...lol
What a pant-load. 100% pure Leftist propaganda.

more realistic headline would be inside the NYT battle for self preservation
It is the NYT editorial staff who mope and scowl on their way to their board room while Trump smiles, waving on his way to Marine One, happy beatutiful family by his side. The only ones living any existence of self preservation is the NYT, desperately sending out postcards begging for subscribers, scheming, answering the red phone yes hillary. Anything you want hillary
It is the NYT that will not be around seven years from now while Trump will be President.
This is such a crock. I laughed at the other version of this thread (that got locked) - quoting the Menza genius Nancy Pelosi about Trump so unprepared and clueless - using the analogy “it’d be like you or me going into the room and doing brain surgery”. Well, at least now I know what happened to her.
But the quotes above - Trump propped up on his pillow doing tweets ‘...says aides’ - who in the world would know what Trump is doing in his private residence.
HOUR-BY-HOUR BATTLE FOR SELF-PRESERVATION
Project much NYT? Trump is doing just fine. How is your rag doing? What's the deep state score v. Trump running right now? 1000:0 or something. You guys haven't even made a mark yet.
