As is common practice, an assistant or legal clerk would sign or stamp the rulings, but to distinguish them from an original signature they put their initials after the signature. His Clerk was named, I think, Darla Adams, D.A. In 1977 he was an ADA.

It is common for certain people to sign papers on behalf of another, but then they sign THEIR initials alongside.
The DA was undoubtedly added.
And, a person who traced over another person’s signature can say, “this IS his signature.” That’s different than saying “he personally signed this.”
