EU officials announced they have begun court action against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic over their opposition to the blocs mandatory relocation scheme.
The decision is likely to provoke a furious response from the leaders of the three states, which have all argued that the programme presents a security threat to their citizens.
It risks once more plunging Brussels into a bitter and acrimonious battle with three of its newest member states, at a time when the bloc is trying to uphold its remarkable unity of Brexit.
In September Hungary and Slovakia lost an appeal to the ECJ against the legality of the scheme after arguing that it should have been taken by a unanimous decision of the member state.
After that case eurocrats wrote to all four states not honouring quotas, with Slovakia subsequently dropping their opposition, ordering them to immediately start taking in migrants.
In a statement the Commission said: The replies received were again found not satisfactory and three countries have given no indication that they will contribute to the implementation of the relocation decision.
This is why, the Commission has decided to move to the next stage of the infringement procedure and refer the three Member States to the Court of Justice of the EU.

Yes, and significantly wall off their borders -- now!
Karma.
The Czech government announced yesterday their plan to move their Israel embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
So there is at least some pushback.
Sounds like Brussels is behaving as the ‘EU Enforcement Center’ for all the countries in the EU.......much like a NWO Capital Governent might.

Heh, Esperanto, invented by a Pole, no less.
It's beginning to smell a lot like 1939
War is in the air.
They are fellow travelers. No doubt about it.
EU is the Fourth Reich
I agree.
Trying to tell member states who they will let in, when it dangerous to let them in, is in my book the end of any pretense at honorable governance.
The E.U. just made it crystal clear what it’s motives, and care for member nation’s citizens is.
Folks should run for the exits, but then the water has been getting warmer for a long time, and they just aren’t quite dead yet.
It’s worth noting that those who have had the experience of living behind the Iron Curtain under the boot of the tyrant for almost 50 years seem to have more interest in preserving their freedom than those who lived relatively free those years.
Polish Governments Video on Migration Policy Sent to YouTube Jail
Like Hungary, Poland has staunchly opposed the EU mandatory quota for resettling refugees. The Polish government recently created a brief video spot on the topic, explaining Polish policy and pointing out that some EU leaders have admitted that the mandatory resettlement scheme couldnt possibly work that is, that the Poles had been right all along.

Just trying to emulate Washington, DC.
I agree that many in Washington, D.C. and the leaders in the E.U. are fellow travelers.
Hopefully Trump will change things so much, it will be difficult for those types to rise here in the future.
Seems an almost impossible task though.
The EU has been constantly slamming Poland for not changing the national currency unit Zloty into the shared Euro so far.
In the Entrance Treaty, Poland agreed to do it in the next millennium, when the economy allows that fact.
So, being constantly pushed about it by the EU commission, Poland has specified the acceptance of taking Euro for 2999.
The promised in the Treaty “millennium” still remains “millennium”, but I don’t thing they are all happy about the Polish response (LOL)
There can be no sovereignty in a one-world government.
Contrary to the widespread belief here on FR, the United Kingdom also refused to participate in this quota scheme (a little-acknowledged stand taken by the Cameron government). And because the UK isn’t in the Schengen open borders area, but controls its own borders, there was nothing Merkel et al could do to enforce it. Hence the notorious ‘jungle’ camps at Calais etc, of those who had made it across the Europe to the Channel but were blocked at the UK border.
