The Trump campaign may have known about the surveillance all along, and used it to deliberately feed false information to the Obama intelligence people overseeing it. NSA Director Admiral Mike Rodgers met with Trump on Nov 17, 2016. It doesn't seem likely that they would have talked about golf and grand kids.
