That man’s family is so fortunate to have him for a husband and father. According to the article, he didn’t “whip out a gun” until the criminal pointed his own gun at the good guy’s family. He was handling things peacefully up until his own family was threatened. Then he did what the liberals hate: he defended his loved ones and the other innocents in the restaurant by taking out the garbage. Seems like an open and shut case to me. Good man!!

It wasn't clear if any charges would be filed in connection with the incident, but officers said they believe Molina fired at Herrera in defense of a third person, FOX29 reported.

In Texas (and most of flyover country), it ought to be pretty clear that Mr. Molina was just performing a public services in taking out the trash. Now if this were New York or Massachusetts, then he might have a problem.

I would have demured for a few seconds and done a similar thing of not drawing my weapon while the perp had his on me. I would have drawn it when he was elsewhere threatening the help. I don’t think I would have waited for my family to exit the bathroom though. This probably happened so fast as it all probably happened within seconds.

Nice shooting Mr. Molina. I hope you don’t get too bent out of shape mentally over removing this POS from the gene pool.

Another example of a sound defensive tactic is to take the guy out when the attacker is momentarily distracted or his attention is directed elsewhere.

"whipped out his gun"

That rankled me too, shoddy millennial journo-lism (what else should we expect). Try, "drew his weapon", you sorry liberal arts college indoctrinated POS.

I agree with you: it probably all happened within a matter of seconds. Molina probably began discreetly pulling out his gun the moment the thug turned his back on him.

Lots of great examples of how to and how not to at Active Self Protection on Youtube.

As far as charges being filed, I would go after anything the perp had in a civil suit, for mental distress to my family.

then whipped out his gun and shot Herrera several times

maybe the reporter just saw "Blazing Saddles" and thought it was a catchy phrase

Maybe ripped off from Aerosmith’s Dude Looks Like a Lady lyrics:
“Forgive me if I seem out of line
Then she whipped out her gun and tried to blow me away! That, that dude looks like a lady
That, that dude looks like a lady...”

Texas has a very good use of force law. He will never be charged and should not be. In fact, they should have a parade in his honor.

If this were some hell hole like Md or NJ or NY he would be behind bars awaiting a liberal public defender who would be concerned for the guy he shot.

And, if he were to be found 'not guilty' he would be sued by the relatives for violating the civil rights of the choir boy. Of course, that could happen still, even in Texas.

He was handling things peacefully up until his own family was threatened.

Handled the issue accordingly. Texas law says deadly force cannot be used to protect against monetary but can be used once you feel or to prevent a felony. He then played this out so that when the perp was distracted, bam.

Good job. He kept his family alive for now. Suggest he get Police protection for a few nights. If this dead spik has any friends they may be looking him and his family up for a drive by. We are talking San Antonio. where the mescan gangs run thick as fleas on a dogs back.
