Jane Taylor* has a lot of things to worry about when her husband is deployed. Will he come home alive? Will her kids see their dad again? But until last month, Will he slip up and sleep with a taxpayer-funded sex worker? wasnt one of them.
Like many military wives, Brisbane, Australia, resident Jane was horrified to read Australian army Capt. Sally Williamson recommending prostitutes be sent to the front line to help relieve stress in serving troops.

You didn’t like “Love Will Tear Us Apart”?
No “short” answers need apply.
Sounds like something obozo would have put in place. Where in the devil are the “front lines”?
I would suspect that Sally wants the prostitutes for herself.
“”Improved intimacy and sexual interaction can help combat veterans with PTSD recovery, wrote Williamson, who is currently serving in the Middle East.””
Just as I thought!!!
She is going to hog all the comfort girls.
Wow, that poor girl who had to pose for that poster!
What a twit.
Everyone knows that alcohol was invented to deal with PTSD.
(I wonder where in the ME this ‘combat veteran’ is stationed? Must be some hairy sh!t going on there.)
Same as in the Red Light District of Amsterdam. In college my best friend and I watched the guys on those streets. Supposedly they lit a cigarette by the side of the bed and by the time it was done the man was out. The hooker would be in her window, and my friend, who smoked, would light one up when a guy went in. Before the cig was done, sure enough, the guy would be coming back out the door and heading up the street.
My old boss fought for the Brits from Palestine in WWII and told me many stories. One I remember was they were in N Africa in the desert and the troops came upon a tiny hut in the sand with one prostitute in it. 50+ guys lined up outside the door. My bosss buddy was one of the guys in line, and finally my boss went over and tried to make him realize what craziness he was doing. 50 filthy men in front of him in line. One woman. But he couldnt talk him out of it.
I hope it was cheap enough.
Those gals must have been making their money on volume.:-P
When you reduce sex to a business transaction I guess it cuts it down to the bare minimum. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am.
I knew a guy that used to frequent hookers because they would do what good girls wouldn’t.
He dropped a boatload of cash on hookers in his life so he must have been pretty freaky.
Satire is dead, John. The weirdness and abject stupidity of the real world is ‘way ahead of you.
Seriously? Incredible ignorance.
It’s like Nately’s whore’s grandfather said,
“It is better to live on your kneews than to die on your feet.”
Chinatown, SF.
First you assume all men in the military are married, which is a false assumption. Second you presume even married men don’t stray, an equally False assumption.....
Prositutes haven’t clustered around army’s since the beginning of time because they find no customers there.
Save your moral preaching for the pulpit. There aren’t half breeds found in every country that wars have happened simply because of some folks using. rape as a weapon.
If you believe that only, what you term “honorable men” make great soldiers, then just go look and see how much your own government has spent to try to deal with the issues of std prevention and treatment. You can argue morality all you like that doesn’t change pragmatic reality.
Go follow the sailors who have gotten their first shore leave after being stuck on a boat for months and come back to me with what you find. All may not, but many many due and that’s reality. It you believe only good soldiers are ones that never fornicate then enjoy having a standing army that numbers far too few to be effective
This isn’t actually happening. One relatively low ranking officer suggested it. That’s all. Nobody is taking it seriously as a real suggestion to be implemented.
Italy and ‘Nam aren’t the sandbox.
True enough...but it’s the oldest profession for a reason...
Holy cow.
