Brailsford orders Shaver, 26, to lay face-down in a hallway and refrain from making sudden movements - or risk being shot. He also orders a woman in the hallway to lie on the ground. Shaver is seen complying with the officer's order to put his hands on top of his head and cross his left foot over his right foot.
"Young man, you are not to move. You are to put your eyes down look down at the carpet you are to keep your fingers interlaced behind your head you are to keep your feet crossed," Brailsford says. "If you move, we are going to consider that a threat, and we are going to deal with it and you may not survive it, do you understand me?"
"Yes sir," Shaver says.
Brailsford then orders the woman to kneel, put her hands in the air and crawl towards officers. Officers then apparently handcuff her out of the view of the camera.

You mean that flimsy elastic waistband that could barely hold up the shorts they were attached to? Stop it. He couldn't conceal a stick of gum in there and the cop knew it.
Oh please. Have you seen the waistband? Any cop that thinks something could be concealed in those shorts the victim was wearing shouldn't be on the force. And I wouldn't be surprised if the jury was threatened.
I actually got on the floor of my living room in the same position as Daniel was in, with my legs crossed and tried to get into a kneeling position, I found that to be impossible. You simply can’t get into a kneeling or crawling position with your legs crossed like that. The only reason for that instruction to keep one’s legs crossed is to keep the suspect from moving toward you, so why yell at him to keep his legs crossed while at the same time instructing him to crawl toward the cop?
Could have been handled better, like cuff the guy while he was on the floor, hands behind his back, and legs crossed. Having him crawl towards you was STUPID.
Well of course that is what should have happened. When Daniel was lying flat on the floor with his hands outstretched in full view and his legs crossed, another LEO could have approached him, handcuffed him and searched for a weapon.
Yep. I guess it might have been possible he was concealing a pistol in the back of his gym shorts that were half hanging down past his ass, but I think that unlikely and while Shaver was lying on the floor, the bump of a concealed pistol should have been visible.

That only escalated the situation IMO as Shaver was already motionless before the cop gave him confusing instructions on how to move and how to crawl toward him.

The Jury was NOT allowed to see this video until after the case. Gee I wonder why?.....
The SGT’s voice you hear yelling (not the actual officer with the rifle) like a Drill Instructor retired and fled the country. I guess the SGT knew he was guilty as h@ll?
The police officer that did the killing was fired shortly after his boss saw the video. Soon after he was charged.
The Defense argued the jury should not see the body cam and the Judge agreed!!! The Jury should have found that very suspicious.
This video angers me. That officer was a clear threat to the public. He should be in prison for manslaughter at the very least.
Perhaps a the DOJ can look at this case, and charge this officer. That guy needs to go to prison.

Good analysis about it being impossible to get on your knees with your feet crossed, hands in the air and crawl towards the officer. I don’t know how he is suppose to do that.
Moreover when the Daniel was down on the ground flat why did the officers just cuff him? Ridiculous!

In theory you are, of course, correct. But in high-stress situations civilians often don’t think clearly. If a cop cannot take that into account, we are all in trouble.
Anyway, I’ve got a question for you. Consider those shoot-or-don’t-shoot drills police recruits go through. A target pops up. The target shows a picture of a man holding a shotgun. The recruit is supposed to shoot.
Another target pops up. It’s a man holding a baby. The recruit is supposed to hold his fire.
Now let’s suppose a target pops up of a man with his hand on his waistband. No gun is seen. Should the cop shoot?

If I witnessed that crime, I would have had a moral obligation to shoot that cop. I hope some vigilante justice is served. Pathetic cop, judge and jury.
Cop said he was going to murder him and did. Murder one!
That was a very disturbing video. And it was something that could happen to any of us.
And gun permit holders take note. In many states, when a cop runs your plate, he can tell if you’ve got a permit. So he’ll assume you’ve got a gun. You could be that guy in that video.
At least in this case the cop was found guilty, and got 12 years (I looked it up).

That’s an unrealistic exaggeration.

Videos can lie as easily as text.

So, after roll call, when they were walking to their cars, one of them says, “Hey, Bubba, let’s murder us a n**ger today,” and Bubba says, “Ayup, that sounds like fun.”
Is that what you imagine? Because I think it’s bullcrap.
