A father eating a meal with his family at a Texas Popeyes shot and killed a robber who threatened him and his wife and children with a gun.
Carlos Molina, 32, was eating at a San Antonio Popeyes with his family around 9pm on Wednesday when Andres Herrera, 19, walked in to the fast food restaurant and demanded his money and belongings at gunpoint.
Molina told Herrera that he had no money - because he spent it on the meal - and asked the teen if his family could leave, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Sounds like Herrera didn’t realize he was facing Quickdraw Molina.

I disagree. Ive tried to give Popeyes the benefit of the doubt, but their food tatstes bad, small portions, and high prices. Tried three different locationstheyre all the same. Blah.
Tastes vary, of course. My palate tells me that Popeye's makes some very tasty fast food - the red beans and rice are amazing, the popcorn shrimp is addictive, and the fried chicken is miles ahead of anything KFC will ever offer. For what it is - fast food - Popeye's is right up there with In-N-Out for me.

Maybe it was after a basketball game or a “Winter Solstice Holiday Concert” or something.

Oh, back to the story.
Well played, Sr. Molina. In the same situation, one would hope to do as you did.

I’ve come to view most fast food the same way, overpriced, poor quality, unhealthy and usually highly salted to cover the putrid flavor, or lack thereof.
I think I may have been spoiled by some of the grocery/recipe delivery services, like Blue Apron. Good food, fresh produce that you prepare, and completely customizeable as far as seasoning. Now, fast food tastes like not food to me.

Point taken. I didn’t note the ages of the kids either.
I cringe when I see people out in public late with toddlers and small children.

The UK's Daily Mail, reporting stories American news media fail to cover.Generally speaking, yes.
However I did see this in US MSM, and chose Daily Mail to deny hits to Time and CNN.

I read about 100 of the comments at DM. All but one are from the US and are supportive. Not one written by a Brit bed wetter. One from Germany pointing out that age 19 is not a teen. Most congratulate Dad on his gun control.

Rename the place, Popeye Molinas Fried Chicken, and give his family a lifetime of free chicken.Or maybe "Dead-eye's Fried Chicken."

The headline makes it sound as though after shooting the thug he threatened the thug’s kids.
