Michael Flynn has absolutely nothing to fear from the Logan Act

Whatever Flynn’s other transgressions may be -- the White House says he lied to Vice President Pence about his conversations last year with Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, and the FBI could investigate whether he told federal agents the truth in interviews -- he almost certainly doesn’t have to worry about the Logan Act. In the 218 years since its passage, not a single person has been convicted of violating the law.

But the only crime he admitted to was lying. If you tell the FBI that you had eggs for breakfast because you are afraid they’ll tell your wife if you admit to having a doughnut, but it turns out they have proof you had a doughnut for breakfast, you would be guilty of the EXACT same crime to which he admitted guilt.

That’s interesting.

My point, though, is that win, lose, or draw, guilty or not guilty, NOBODY has anything to fear from the Logan act because IMO a jury (receiving instructions at a trial) can not comprehend the law; the law has AFAIK never been used, and there is lots of slosh as to what constitutes a genuine violation of the act.

But he’s vulnerable to being bulldozed in every aspect of his life should the powers in the DOJ to make it so.

It is so galling that HRC gets away with volumes of crimes, this guy, who AFAIK is in every respect a long time dedicated gov’t employee, a patriot, and who has unquestionable skills returns a library book late and is creamed. I suspect you feel the same way.

Hey! If Trump fires him after this fiasco, he can come coach the Cleveland Browns!

But the big difference was Trump and Sessions allowed this special investigation to go on. Holder, Obama, (what’s her name on the tarmac) and everybody else always stopped those investigation.
