MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- The Alabama Supreme Court has upheld the dismissal of a 2012 lawsuit which wanted Alabama's Secretary of State to certify the birth certificate of each presidential candidate before allowing their names to appear on the general election ballot.
The court ruled 7-2 on the issue, with Chief Justice Roy Moore one of two justices who dissented from the majority's decision, arguing the lower court should have directed the secretary of state to check candidate birth certificates.

Let’s hope people in AL can discern the choice they must make. I am nervous about their ultimate decision.

People use the term to denigrate those who uphold the Constitution.
They have gotten the American people to reject one of the most valuable safeguards bequeathed to us by the founders.
The natural born citizen clause served us well until we ignored it.
Barry Soetoro/Barack Hussein Obama should be proof enough of the wisdom of the founders when they tried to prevent him from being President by requiring someone who could only be a US citizen and nothing else.
Born here of citizen parents.
Naturally a US citizen because there is no other possibility.
One cannot be anything else and also be a natural born citizen.
Sounds like Moore said all birth certificates should be checked.

I think it's because he is a true Christian not afraid to tell the truth about issues like homosexuality.

Whatever the Obama Admin put forth as a BC is fabricated. That’s a fact that any pro in the graphic arts industry can discern.
Birth certificates should be available to ANYONE who pays the fee for photocopying, certified by the relevant department of each state government.
People who have been born announce that fact every day by walking around in broad daylight. It is preposterous to hold that birth certificates are somehow sensitive and confidential.
Federal law should require every state Secretary of State to obtain a certified copy of every federal candidate’s birth certificate directly from the state of birth.
“Birtherism” is just a variant on “conspiracy theory.”
If you want to be banned or suspended on FR, just ask questions about the events of a certain Tuesday. The reason given will be “conspiracy garbage” or “conspiracy crap.”
Marco “Anchor Baby” Rubio, and Cubanadian Cruz have a weird uninterest in Obama’s crudely-forged “birth certificate.”
States should confirm candidate eligibility. It’s a no brainer.
I would not wish to have that as the law of the land. It has ‘ID Fraud’ written all over it.
That said, for candidates running for public office having an eligibility requirement that a birth certificate can settle - yes: there should be a legal authority/mechanism that can perform this verification.
There’s no useful information for ID fraudsters on a birth certificate. Newborns don’t have Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, etc., etc. And it’s not economical to pay the fees for someone’s name, and a fifty-year-old address.
Sure it does: Mother’s maiden name? Credibility for an I-9 form, perhaps? BC’s are a foot in the door at minimum.
