President Trump plans to give a speech next week naming Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, according to an Axios report published Friday.
The report cites a White House spokesman who told the news outlet that Mr. Trump always planned to address the matter, but he has been waiting for the right time to make the announcement. The speech is currently slated for Wednesday.
The President has always said it is a matter of when, not if. The President is still considering options and we have nothing to announce, the spokesman told Axios.

Yes!
Thank you Mr President !
It has been proven time and time again that when he Israeli people are secure and happy, The Lord is also happy.
Any friend of Israel is a friend of Christ, and Trump is the best ally the Israeli nation has had in centuries
I loves me some Trump! Greatest president eva!
Jews of all backgrounds are familiar with the phrase le-shanah ha-ba'ah bi-Yerushalayim, Next Year in Jerusalem. [The Meaning of Next Year in Jerusalem"]
Hanukkah is coming up this month. It’s the Jewish month of kislev. It’s 5778 in the Jewish calendar! And next year Israel will celebrate its 70th year of statehood I would say this is most excellent timing!
A wall provides comfort, and Nehemiah is known for his rebuilding the walls and gates of Jerusalem.
Kind of looks like another case of "what's in a name":
Nehemiah = "Jehovah comforts", nacham (comfort) + Yah.
Is 40
1. Comfort my people, comfort them, says your God:
2. Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry to her, that her fighting is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins:
3. A voice cries, Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God:
4. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it:
Amen! Let it be so!
My thought, too. The Washington Times isn’t usually that adrift.
Jerusalem has ALWAYS been the capitol of Israel..about darn time we have a President who will acknowledge it :-)
The Palestinian Mandate stated that Israel would be created within the Mandate. The British created an Emirate named after the East Bank area of the Jordan River and named it the Emirate of Transjordan. They installed a Saudi prince as its ruler. This Emirate occupied approximately two-thirds of the area promised to Israel under the Palestinian Mandate. Israeli settlers were forced to migrate west of the Jordan. The majority of Jerusalem's residents were Jewish. It was a Jewish city and located in the area promised to the Jews.
In 1948 Trans-Jordan invaded the West Bank Area and Jerusalem, and occupied them. They immediately changed their country's name to Jordan, because the name Trans-Jordan means “the area east of the Jordan River”. They granted Jordanian citizenship to all Arabs and pushed out all Jews. In 1967 the area was liberated by Israeli forces during the six Day War.
In September 1970 the PLO waged war on the Jordanians in an effort to take over Jordan and name it Palestine, because they state and have always stated that all of the area of the Palestinian Mandate (from the river to the sea) belong to them . They failed.
Note: The names "Jews" denotes people with origins within the area of Israel, and "Israelis" also denotes those with origins within Israel. They are home! The name "Arab" denotes those who came from Arabia and invaded and occupied the Middle Eastern areas, outside of Arabia, including Egypt and North Africa. So who really belongs in Israel, Jews from Judah, or Arabs from Arabia?
.
‘Bout time!

Every now and then, I reflect on what the US did in retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor. In less than four years, we were ready to eradicate the Japanese race if they did not surrender.
With that in mind, I tear up as I consider how western civilization, including the US, will likely fall, without fighting back, to barbarian muzzies.
Unless things change real soon, a worldwide muslim Dark Age is just around the corner.
Perhaps President Trump’s recognition of Israel’s capital is the first step toward turning them back. Please.
This is so interesting. When i read this news i started googling that date etc. Thank you everyone for your knowledge. Its no coincidence. This is Huge !
And what is your point? Are you forecasting that the Lord will disapprove or what|? Just don’t spout Bible verses to spout Bible verses.
It is a key scripture that folks who are waiting for the Lord’s return for His church are looking forward to - sorry if the Bible is offensive to you, but it is to many people.
I am a dispensationalist, a futurist, who loves the Word., but failed to see the slant you are taking on that verse. Zech 12 cautions nations not to meddle with Jerusalem so one could posit that it’s (unfortunately??) what DJT is doing.
Many of us celebrate this move by Trump and believe blessings to his administration will come because of it. On the other hand, a preponderance of Anglicans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Lutherans, Catholics, and Orthodox do not approach the Word from a dispensational pro-Israel point of view.
Some, including myself, believe that the embassy being moved to Jerusalem speaks of events that will transpire during the tribulation which includes the rebuilding of the temple (which Antichrist will defile) - the American presence (which is to say their military might) will assist Jerusalem in this endeavor which might otherwise be delayed by the Muslims.
I was also keenly interested in the missile strike in Damascus last night - as we believe that the city will be utterly destroyed “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap” (Isaiah 17:11).
Frankly, we are excited for it appears that everything is in place for the Lord’s return.
Maranatha!
I agree with your take, especially how Zech 12 applies to the onslaughts Israel will receive during that last 70th Week, the Tribulation. But it’s probably stretching the context of that particular verse to say that it’s directly applicable before the Rapture. Not to be nit-picking but a better verse here might be Genesis 12:2-3.
Maranatha.
Good point!
