Matt Lauer, the disgraced former anchor of NBC's "Today" show who was fired Wednesday for inappropriate sexual behavior, once summoned a married female employee to his office, locked the door and sexually assaulted her until she passed out, the New York Times reported after interviewing the accuser.
The alleged incident occurred in 2001. The woman, who was not named in the report, told the Times that she was in her 40s at the time.
According to the report, Lauer was behind his desk and she took a seat in the office. She said he locked the door from a button at his desk and he asked her to unbutton her blouse. She said she complied and claims he got up from his desk, approached her from behind, bent her over his desk and had sex.
Woke up on the floor
Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. As a result, weve decided to terminate his employment. pic.twitter.com/1A3UAZpvPb TODAY (@TODAYshow) November 29, 2017
She claims that she passed out during intercourse and woke up later on the floor in his office. She said Lauer had his assistant take her to a nurse. She told the Times that Lauer never mentioned the encounter with her again and she said she left the network about a year later.
The accuser asked the paper not to identify her in the report. The paper said it contacted her ex-husband who said he remembered the alleged encounter. The two were reportedly separated in 2001 and are now divorced.
The Times report said NBC received at least two more complaints about Lauer after the network announced he was fired prior to Wednesdays "Today"...

I mean how does this work? I can't imagine such a request going anywhere I would want it to go. I would place high probability on being escorted out by armed guards dumped on the curb face down and told that if I want my personal effects I can sue for them. Oh and my severance check - yeah, it's in the mail.
[And her husband did nothing, she never went home and told him? She never told her parents? Her dad ignored it?]
If my wife/girlfriend ever came to me and told me someone did this to her, the perp would be getting a 12 gauge enema!
yes it is. just because women have fallen into thinking they must prioritize their job, their position or their dream of career by agreeing to trade the use of their body for it does not mean they did not agree to it.
if it was forced sexual encounter that is different.
the more I read on this, the more it seems she agreed to some thing in that office, maybe she should have had better understanding of what all that was upfront, but she agreed to some of it.
Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George is fired for having sex at work with the cleaning woman. George asks his boss: Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me when I first started here that this sort of thing was frowned upon, you know...
Many guys would take that as a "YES."
Why hasn’t this rapist been arrested? What does his wife have to say about this? Why are his friends supporting him? I guess that is how LIBs “roll”. No morals, no integrity, no accountability...what difference does it make now anyway???
Wow!...whadda stud! Did her till she passed out. NOT!!!
He needs to be locked up and sharing a cell with “Big Bubba” until he passes out.
What an evil POS.
“She is often victimized a second time by others because they dont believe her a little like whats going on in some posts here.”
Fifteen years after the deed, with no possibility of refuting an accusation - THAT is victimization. Of men.
I knew a woman who accused a man of raping her just after the Super Bowl. Only a few months had passed. However...it turned out the guy was deployed 10,000 miles away that January. But if she had accused him 15 years later, she could always claim she got the year mixed up, etc.
Make the accusation in a timely manner so it can be investigated. Otherwise it becomes open season on men.
If true, she should be thanking Matt Lauer instead.
OK I think I found her problem.
twice - no matter how much time in-between, is the start of a pattern.
Good to see these self righteous fools , lauer, Charlie rose, Franken , exposed for the frauds they are. They had that deep reflection, we are the truth look down, while the reality is the are lecherous fools.
Revenge is justice best sever cold. The Dems defense of billy jeff is coming home to roost as at least in lauer its workplace stuff and no way you can say being president isnt a profession
This behavior is abnormal. These people are abnormal. Liberalism is a mental illness.
In fact, this type of behavior has been the norm, and expected, in nearly all of the world for nearly all time.
Women who allowed themselves to be alone with powerful men have been subject to being pressured for sex forever.
That is why many standards developed to prevent this behavior.
The whole “sexual harassment” meme is a recent moral development of the West, particularly of Americans.
The vast majority of sex between powerful men and women inside of the organizations they control is consensual.
With all due respect, NO job is worth the price of forced sex.
These women need some self respect.
You make a scene - even if it means losing the job. Nobody needs to work for a boss under those conditions.
Hope NBCs insurance is paid up
She said he locked the door from a button at his desk and he asked her to unbutton her blouse. She said she complied and ......
That being said, this sounds consensual. If a guy asks a woman to unbutton her blouse, and she does, that usually means she wants sex.
Please let it be David Muir next.
The story is bizarre. If it were me, I would have immediately attempted to escape when he asked me to unbutton my blouse, and if unable to do so I would have attacked him with whatever I could find. The passing out part a d getting a nurse is bizarre also.
THIS is exactly the behavior that Trump was talking about in the locker room recording.
God in Heaven
Between abortion, selling baby parts and blood, and corruption on so many levels, we cannot survive as a country like this. It makes me ill.
