The top two Democrats in Congress canceled a meeting with President Trump slated for later Tuesday, saying they didnt see him as a viable partner in trying to strike an end-of-year spending deal.
The stunning move attempts to further sideline Mr. Trump and portray him as at odds with his partys own leadership in Congress.
Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced their decision to skip the meeting hours after Mr. Trump said he doubted they could reach a deal on an end-of-year spending bill.

Any Republican who wants any chance to keep his/her job needs to get on Trump's side on this right now and stay on it.

They were probably smart to cancel the meeting.
But I bet Trump anticipated their decision. He’s always 3 steps ahead of the dimmies.

Right now the Democrats own the shutdown. We should keep it that way.
In the Ted Cruz shutdown, The unnecessary 13% of the government shutdown (allegedly).
If 13% is unnecessry/non-essential then let’s make the shutdown of 13% permanent. And the Democrats will own it.
What a way to drain the swamp.
What a way to win.
But wait. Are McConnell and Ryan and the establishment Republicans so stupid that they will take ownership of the Shutdown away from the Democrats?

I'm guessing this Tweet from Trump earlier this morning gave Schmuck and Nancy an idea of what was NOT going to be on the agenda....
Donald J. Trump Verified account @realDonaldTrump 3h3 hours ago Meeting with Chuck and Nancy today about keeping government open and working. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes. I dont see a deal!

I am at a loss as to how they would even have the power to force a shut down

Maybe if president Trump sent a life video of himself to Nancy Pea Brains. She might consider their meeting as iconic?

Save some money.
(I know, they all get paid anyways - what a joke!)
To: rdl6989
Let it happen.
If the Democrats refuse to meet with the President to avert a shutdown, then the President cannot be blamed when the shutdown happens. The media, of course, will try to blame him, but the people will see the truth.
