Howdy, LUV!
Whew! Sounds like your friends saved the day with the baked chicken. And it also sounds like y’all don’t have to worry about going out to eat for a few days. LOL!
I reckon the cola roast was another hit. It was a 2 lb. roast and I put half away after supper. Hubby ate the other half! I has veggie “steak”. I wrapped some cut up potatoes with butter and seasonings in aluminum foil and slid them in next to the roast to cook while I dealt with the cat feeding. There was also the broccoli casserole I baked last night. Not a huge meal but it was plenty for just the two of us. The woman who comes by every year to gather pecans from our trees brought a pecan pie this morning.
Our temps weren’t quite as warm as yours but the mid 50s felt nice enough. Nary a cloud in the sky either. To be honest, we wish it would rain SOON because this has been a VERY dry month. Leaves on the ground and everything so dry has people worried about wildfires springing up. It was a year ago that Gatlinburg was almost destroyed.
No rain in the forecast until late next week and that is a small chance. But the temps will be nice - - 50s and 60s. No complaints here!
mmmm...homemade pecan pie! We had storebought but it was pretty good!
Lordy, I hope y’all get some rain. You don’t need any more destruction like that was! How are the restorations coming along there?
