Politico: 'How Donald Trump Ruined Thanksgiving'

Did you know that President Donald Trump has ruined Thanksgiving? That is the premise of Politico on Thanksgiving Day. Interestingly GQ magazine proposes that if somehow your Thanksgiving is going great, that Trump should be injected into the conversations by angry liberals in order to ruin the event for everybody. GQ gives tips on performing this task in It's Your Civic Duty to Ruin Thanksgiving by Bringing Up Trump. Therefore it seems that the real Donald Trump is not the problem; only the weaponized Trump used by angry liberals to ruin what would normally be warm family feelings on Thanksgiving Day.

Before we get to GQ's tips for liberals on how to ruin Thanksgiving let us look at Politico's premise on How Donald Trump Ruined Thanksgiving:

My wife and I were invited to Thanksgiving dinner at the extended family of the couple who cut and bale our hay. We only knew the couple and his father of the 20 adults and kids there.

As many post-Thanksgiving meals become, folks sat around the dining room table, in the living room and the porch to groan, moan and regret eating so much.

Someone brought up Trump and instead of ruining the get-together, there was a lively discussion of Trump's tenure and how thankful everyone was that Hillary didn't win.

Moral of the story: You just have to know who to associate with. Mentioning Trump does not ruin all family/friend holidays.

I have a similar experience; when getting together with extended family and in-laws, there is NOBODY who wanted Hillary to win. Some may not have been Trump supporters, but all are Republicans, and all detested Obama AND Hillary. There is no friction at Thanksgiving - just thanks that Hillary lost.

They can keep running these fake news stories all they want about how Trump is “tearing this country apart”, but the fact is many of us voted for him - and we tend to cluster. Also, they can stuff their hollow “popular vote” argument because Hillary (like her husband in both of his races) didn’t even reach 50% - which means more than half the voters on Election Day didn’t want her. If more than half the voters rejected her, why would there be turmoil at Thanksgiving?
