A total of 40 in the top 10 states in deductions.
Costs vs income. Affordable low tax states equates to fewer claiming deduction
The power to tax, is the power to destroy.
The “progressive” tax rate is straight out of the communist manfesto.
10% income tax, across the board, no exemptions, no deductions, no credits, no minimums. 10 cents of every dollar earned goes to the feds, and 10 cents on the dollar is all they get, period.
What does political allegiances have to do with tax deductions and overall tax cuts? Dramatically reducing the size of Government through a reduction in spending (not in this bill) along with tax cuts should be the goal of any conservative. Eliminating these deductions regardless of how it impacts blue vs. red is like telling the Government yes please take more of my money, the money I earned because well, you know how to spend my money far better than I
Eliminating deductions until a flat tax is in place is nothing but contiinurmed theft by the feds
When one takes away the personal exemptions of $4,050 per household member, that puts millions of taxpayers into tax hike territory in most states.
Even WITH the increase in the standard deduction.
While many will find themselves in a lower bracket, many also will find themselves in higher brackets.
Did our elected representatives lie to us?
Entrenched government bureaucracy : a legal scheme where taxes are distributed to people who produce dubious “goods” and “services” so worthwhile that you have to be forced to pay for them, or else.
Mnuchin, Cohn, and all the rest of the GOLDMAN SACHS BANKSTERS involved in this attempt to rip off a TRILLION DOLLARS FROM THE MIDDLE CLASS NEED TO BEWARE!!.
Post of the day. To hell with this tax bill and all others before it
Agreed. Including dividends and interest.
I look forward to this deduction coming to an end...
And the thousands of formerly Democrat-donating morons with pitchforks at the statehouses demanding that Dems cut their taxes.
Should be FUN to watch!
Do you know how much revenue that would raise, and if in turn, was a viable option?
These people who complain about not paying fair shares in these blue states are getting their wish come true if these tax proposals make it through both houses and get Trump’s signature.
Their shares will rise!
So why do they not put DC in its appropriate place in the rankings, like 4th or 5th. This is important given that the assess who run our government seat themselves here.
The people cheering on the tax bill are some of the most shortsighted, geographical bigots I have ever encountered.
Once the individual deductions are taken away - they will never, ever come back. Tax rates, of course, can always be raised.
The SALT deduction has been Federal Law since 1913. Do people think that if the Feds are able to destroy this deduction a few days from now, that they will get the Federal government to restore it? The same goes with other deductions that are about to be eliminated.
We are watching the GOP commit political suicide. And the strange and disturbing thing is that many people who are supposed "conservatives" are cheering on the death, and acting like this is some sort of amusing Michael Vick dog fight.
They are only exposing their true lack of character and wisdom.
Also more poor/poorish people, who don’t bother.
