A Fox News Poll of 649 likely voters in Alabama released on Thursday and conducted between Monday and Wednesday of this week shows Democratic candidate Doug Jones with an eight point lead over Republican candidate Judge Roy Moore in the December 12 special election for the Alabama U.S. Senate seat once held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, 50 percent to 42 percent, with a 3.5 percent margin of error. That poll stands in striking contrast to a Fox10/Strategy Research poll of 3,000 likely voters in Alabama released on Wednesday and conducted on Monday of this week that shows Moore with a six point lead over Jones, 49 percent to 43 percent, with a two percent margin of error.
The 14 point differential between the two polls conducted over the same three day period contributes to the great uncertainty surrounding the election thrown into chaos by unsubstantiated allegations of sexual harassment made against Judge Moore over the past week by several women.
The Real Clear Politics Average of Polls, which includes those two polls as well as three recent additional polls, shows the race is a virtual tie, with Moore having an eight tenths of one percent lead.

The sample size doesn't bother me so much (you'd have an increased MoE, but it could still be valid if it is weighted appropriately). The weighting of the sample is utterly insane (seems like a weighting that would be more appropriate for a national poll, not a poll of, of all places, Alabama).
Comcast is wanting to buy Fox. That will be the end of the few conservatives left. Time for a real conservative network, so let the professional talkers, who have become super-rich as “conservatives,” put their money where their mouths are and invest in that worthy enterprise.
You’ve gotta work real hard to oversample Democrats in Alabama.
FYI: In the AL primary 480,000 Rs voted. 84,000 Ds.
Richard Baris at PPD says the AL split is something like 52-39 (R/D). You can do the math and see how bogus this poll is.
Let me say that the yearbook sig is forgery/fake and needs to have ads run on it.
No exactly a surprise. Even before the whole recent controversy, Fox News had Moore-Jones tied, when multiple other pollster had Moore up double digits. They’ve always given Moore his worst numbers among any of the independent polls.
As doon as I heard this new poll I thought it was false with more dems then R’s
All polls have a purpose. Many are for propaganda.
I believe Moore has the lead by 5% now. As the evidence of the fraudulent accusations are exposed over the next 7-10 days, Moore will wind up winning by at least 10%.
The evangelical Christian voters will be voting in huge numbers and once the fraud is totally exposed, Democrats will be demotivated. I don’t think even Democrats in Alabama believe these lies.
That’s what I say.
After Roy Moore wins he should say no to a fake Ethics panel.
Reject being called Freshman, a high school slander control term.
Roy should be be a bull in a China shop, with bags of popcorn.
SECOND BEST ELECTION EVA
Look at the internals of each pole before you comment. If you do this you will see that the poll which has more losing by 8 points has wildly oversampled Democrats compared to the poll which shows Moore winning by 6 points AND is in line with recent surveys of Party demographics.
Do you not realize that a poll can be made to give any results that the initiator of the pole wants it to give. If they only sample Democrats for instance, then the results will show that Ray Moore is losing by 100%. Have you learned nothing from the polling that was done during the general election?
Polling companies have sold their soul to the left - nothing they say should be taken seriously.
Moore is ahead and will win by 10pts.
I watch news on channels like that just to get some authentic news instead of the fluff and fluster.
You're right on. I'm sure that Judge Moore's support has declined due to these revelations but he still has about a month to get the trend going the other way. I don't know if Moore is ahead or behind at this moment but only thing that matters is what is his support on election day. Judge Moore needs to figure out how to get this issue neutralized and the electorate's attention focused on other issues. It's hard to say whether other scandals (even against Democrats) will help or hurt him.
