People in England and Wales have two weeks to hand in guns, other weapons and ammunition to police stations without being punished for possession.
People who surrender firearms will not automatically be charged, but will be if they are later connected to a crime.

Papa and Kajdijah Sonko spoke to BBC Breakfast about finding out that their son had been killed.
Mr Sonko said he was "a bright boy who had finished his last exam to go to university", and was "in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Kajdijah Sonko pleaded with anyone who owns a gun to give it into police.

That is good, because the people in question are in England and Wales.
That will help the new arrivals, who don’t give a damn about UK laws.

I have an original ww1 Lee Enfield, it’s in great shape, shoots well.
I know a British guy who had to surrender in a number of extremely collectable WW2 military rifles in their first big official “turn in” about 20 years ago. He himself and a number of other collectors later found their former property being auctioned off in Switzerland for a lot more money than they were compensated for. England is an interesting place to visit for historical reasons, but overall, it sucks.
They were Reaquasitioned.
