Guys have to be careful. Some girls can be willfully deceptive about their age! I played a “Be-In” in Milwaukee 50 years ago. My band followed a Black bongo/conga band that stupefied the crowd for 30 minutes. We got up and played one song, Don’t Bogart That Joint and were instantly famous, perhaps infamous. I went and sat under a tree to enjoy the rest of the show. A beautiful girl came and sat down. She had a couple of beers. She put on the moves! Bigtime! I was 21 and she was much more experienced. She had me wound around her little finger! Suddenly this guy runs up and yells at me; “You better get lost! My Dad’s here looking for her. She’;s only 14!” She looked 18 or 19, I split! But she found out where I lived. Sheesh!
Been there, done that! When I was an 18 year old sailor my ship spent a couple of months (or maybe six weeks...memory fails) in the Bethlehem Steel drydock in Baltimore. I met and dated a number of girls and young women, usually the ice-cream parlor or a movie; couldn't afford much more. One of them got clingy, and we "made out" a few times; almost got lucky but fortuitous circumstances prevented it. Thank God! I met her older sister, who informed me she was thirteen!
Even though nothing happened, had she accused me I could have been in big trouble! I let her down as easily as I knew how, and her parent (single mom, divorcee) shipped her off to West Virginia to visit an aunt.
But yes, I did "date" a 13 year-old when I was a legal adult.
