Generalizations and stereotypes are mechanisms of a small mind. Twain said “Generalizations are no darn good, including this one.”
Many minority children are first ‘imprinted’ with the vague concept of negative racial prejudice while at home.
This is one reason it takes so much effort to fix or remove years later.
Others become spiritually branded with bigotry once they reach the teen years, as a desperate way to achieve peer acceptance. For some groups, there is bonding and status in victimhood, be it from real or exaggerated experience.
