I think he is sort of admitting dating the legal ones and behaving respectfully, but the “14 year old” allegation is false.
He asked their mothers for crying out loud. The laws and manners are so different in the South. The Washington Compost would not know of them, or understand. One of the women, who was of age, accused the Judge If getting her drunk. He said not likely, it was a dry county.
Whoraldo, Jarrett, and a female commentator are now judging the case on Hannity’s TV show. They have declared Judge Moore guilty and says he’s lying. Nice judge and jury trial by 3 people in fifteen minutes, right on TV. Sickening.
Dating the 18 year old WOMAN doesn’t even seem like a news story. Especially since all she said he did was kiss her twice.
I doubt it was unusual for a 30ish year old guy to date 17-18 year olds in his neck of the woods 40 years. Of course he can’t say that now in this hysterical atmosphere.
I agree that his answers about dating girls who were 17 or 18 when he was in his early 30’s, were not concise. It would have been better if he said “Look, when I was in my early 30’s, I did go out with a few women who were young, 17, 18. I knew their parents and they knew I was seeing their daughter.. I don’t remember exactly, but I may have kissed a few, that’s all.. This women accusing me of a sexual incident when she was 14, I don’t know her and that never happened.
I believe someone who knew that Moore dated young girls reached out to the Washington Post & helped them chase the women down. They confirmed they went out, but nothing happened. That was damning enough, so realizing they had him dead to rights on dating girls so young, they found someone who made up the story about when she was 14.
Either way, Judge Moore will not be able to get out from under this in time, if ever.
My father was 32, and my mother was 16 when they married. Their first child wasn’t born until 4 years later. I was the last of four children, and am 70 now. If my father was alive today, they’d probably call him a pervert for courting a girl half his age.
