I live in Nova. My second home is in WV. It will eventually become my first home -just a matter of how long I have before VA turns into another Maryland.

I’m from Cumberland. I’d like to buy a few acres of land in WV (preferably sooner than later, given my health), and put a log chalet on it. Maybe around Berkeley Springs, even with its quaint Bohemian atmosphere. Do some trout fishing. I’m also a big proponent of the Western Maryland secession movement. People thought that was a lark, but given the evolving social and political environment...........well, you extrapolate from there. They shoved two prisons down our throats there, courtesy of the Politburo in Annapolis, and as I predicted, the drugs and thugs downstate migrated there like salmon coming home to spawn. The cops have their hands full and then some. It used to be a place where we could leave our front doors unlocked at night. Now I’m trying to convince my elderly mother to buy a .380 micro-carry and keep it in the nightstand. Those insufferable DC-area suburbanites have been slowly infiltrating the region with their boutique coffee shops and art galleries, holding gay rallies with bused-in twinkies, bitching and moaning about global warming that they never see or can justify, and generally seeing how far they can subtly push the envelope. And then these Millennial and Generation Zero ridge runner types buy into the delusion, and it’s changing the face of a town that has been there since the 1700’s. They’re subversive, power-craving parasites who don’t give a single damn about the chaos that follows in their wake. Their Kristallnacht is coming.
