Crazy as this sounds, it is pretty much logical . . . with one flaw. There are three single shots at the beginning of the tape that most people think are the ones directed at the fuel tanks. It wasn’t an afterthought. It was a failure to understand that those things are darn near impervious to rifle shots.
One did penetrate. Think he didn't do his homework but maybe the shots were not to ignite the tank but to test his range and drop. That certainly makes sense.
That's a VERY interesting point: A lot of people are puzzled because they figure Paddock, a pilot, would have known that shooting at the fuel tanks would be ineffective. Some other shooter might not have known that. Esp. if he's been watching too many movies.

Another flaw: We would not go to war with Saudi due to an assassination attempt by factions the present Saudi leadership is taking out, and which factions would likely gum up (at the least) Trump's deals with SA.
Now, I think this is a long shot, but... What if Jeff Sessions' seeming "sleepwalk" is just a cover, because he's investigating stuff a heck of a lot bigger than the type of Clinton style corruption & self-enrichment that comes to mind to most people...? It might literally be the sort of investigation that has to be kept under wraps for a couple years, especially since the FBI, CIA, and Justice Dept. would have to have considerable populations themselves involved in the corruption. Prosecution that follows the law would likely involve death sentences for major political figures. I hope that speculation is wrong, because if it is even 1/10 correct, it is very scary stuff, indeed. likely does not like either.
