Interesting. I wonder what the effect on the cattle of removing the starch is, and what the cost is compared with what raw corn used to cost.

“... you are not ingesting invisible parasites or their eggs with the raw fish?”
Saltwater fish, especially deep-water fish, are quite safe. Avoid estuary, near-shore, or freshwater fish, and don’t eat raw crab or other shellfish unless you know where they’re from. Lung flukes from Chinese raw crab are still a problem (as are tapeworms and other worms from beef, pork and water buffalo in much of Asia). I will eat most oysters raw, but I don’t eat Chesapeake oysters unless they’re cooked. Same goes for imported shrimp, especially ones from SE Asian shrimp farms.
As we get older we know what agrees and doesn’t agree with us
I have almost zero desire to go to any other country and eat their food. I know my system by now and there is no need to test it. Years ago it would have been fun.
“Mind Your Own Business”
I’d like to, but what with all this inferior grass-fed beef, I just don’t have the energy.
MAGABurger!
(Unless, of course, the hamburger he gets is from one of those Japanese McDonald's!) :-)
I find that walking briskly for two miles or more each day actually gives me more energy. It is especially helpful to walk with a dog as I believe a dog adds to your energy level. They have to go for a walk even when it's pouring rain outside. So you have to get out of the house and get some walking in.
A diet high in sugar also saps the energy. I like to eat mostly meats, cheeses, nuts, green vegetables, sweet potatoes, fish, berries and cream top high-fat yogurts. Along with lots of olive oil and Kerrygold grass-fed butter. The brioche bun with my hamburger is an indulgence. Usually I avoid breads of any type. But I also like to make my homemade "Egg McMuffins" which require the use of English muffins. For that, I grab my cast iron skillet and throw in some bacon, making it extra crispy. Then I toss it onto some paper napkins and throw in four eggs. I flip them once and finish them over easy. Into the toasted English Muffins they go with the cooked bacon, melted butter and a slice of cheese. It beats the McDonalds version by a mile.
Lots of energy will result.
President Bush was suffering from a severe bout of the flu but toughed it out and showed up at the dinner anyway. The Japanese respected him for that.
Headline could be closer to reality being: ‘Trump eats a burger on a Japanese trip’.
Sorry, dude, I’m busy minding my own business.
The bacterial contaminants on American beef are on the surface, so you could sear a steak and eat the center rare without worry. Once you grind the beef, the contaminants are brought into the interior, so ground beef should be cooked to 165F.
A Kobe beef burger would sure hit the spot for me. I’m not a raw fish eater, meat&potaties for me.
The food was fine; Pres Bush was ill; I'm sure the Bushes are able to handle exotic foods.
Have done business there for 20+ years, I bet they ( the Japanese) ordered him the burger so as not to embarrass him nor make him uncomfortable on his first visit there
Steaks are at their tastiest and most tender at medium rare; at rare the heat hasn't had a chance to dissolve the collagen.
You are never too old to learn new things.
Why just this morning, I learned that you should not feed koi by just dumping the food container into the water. You are supposed to ceremoniously spoon it out to them.
A burger made from ground chuck tastes as good as sirloin. It's the fat content that gives it the flavor.
Big deal dealmaker, how about shunning signing anything else from Congress until ExtortionCare is repealed.
It's weird and it's wonderful. I pity people who don't enjoy exotic food, but I respect everybody to make their own choices in that area.
