I must respectfully disagree. I might be wrong, but I see strong parallels in Afghanistan/Iraq mess to Vietnam. Vietnam ended with helicopters taking off from the roof of the US embassy. I fear that Afghanistan and Iraq will both end the same way. A tragic waste of blood and treasure.
And who is responsible for Vietnam? Nixon? Ford? No, it’s the man who botched the operation: LBJ.
The same goes with Afghanistan and Iraq. I do not blame Obama, or Trump. They play the parts of Nixon and Ford. It’s all on George W. Bush.
Sorry for the rant. And as I said, I might be wrong. But to my way of thinking, it’s all on Bush. He was like LBJ, only worse. LBJ botched Vietnam. W botched two Vietnams.
