WASHINGTON ― You may have seen this photo of President Donald Trump’s motorcade winding down a wooded road last week as a woman on a bicycle appeared to give it the bird.
The picture, snapped by a White House photographer traveling with the president as he left his golf course in Sterling, Va., went viral almost immediately. News outlets picked up the story when it appeared in a White House pool report. Late-night talk show hosts told jokes about the encounter and people on social media began hailing the unidentified woman as a “she-ro,” using the hashtag #Her2020.
The bicyclist’s name is Juli Briskman and her employer ― government contractor Akima LLC ― wasn’t so happy about the photo. In fact, Akima fired her over it.

Some NFL players need to learn that lesson.
The press pool photographer who sold the photo is still employed, peculiar enough.
I guess his employer hasn’t been embarrassed enough by this stunt.
This pleases me.
What a jerk this idiot is. I’m glad she got to experience the consequences of her rude stupidity.
Another moral: Keep a low profile.

Who knew? Everyone. At least they should.
She gets fired for that while others were probably fired for revealing, however unwittingly, that they voted for Trump.
She was on her own time. She expressed her dislike for the President.
Classic free speech.
I guess her employer has the right to fire her, but if she performed well in the job, It seems excessive.
All the bad publicity likely was the reason.
But, as noted, a large minority of citizens see her as a “shero”. I suppose that is newspeak for heroine.
If she flipped off Obama she’d be audited, ridiculed, threatened, her Home vandalized and would have to have plastic surgery, dye her hair and move to a remote village in Alaska.

Not that it was too hard to guess her political leanings, but this quote removes all doubt.
The First Amendment protects us from the government, not us from our employers. She posted this on her Facebook site which, apparently, also identified her employer and embarrassed them. They took actions they deemed appropriate.
Eh.. whatev. She worked there 6 mo. in marketing —sounds like the company simply found an easy excuse to get rid of her.
I didn’t think that photo was enough to cost her the job.
What happened was she used the photo, on social media. Twitter and Facebook. From the linked article.
