At least 27 people have died after a gunman opened fire at a church in Texas during Sunday services.
The attack happened at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs in Wilson County.
A police commissioner at the scene confirmed that at least 27 people had died. Several others are reported to be injured.
The San Antonio FBI branch said its agents had been deployed, and there was no indication of the gunman's motive.
The FBI also said that while only one shooter was reported, it was looking into other possibilities.
Local ABC affiliate KSAT 12 reported the gunman entered the church at around 11:30 local time (17:30 GMT). It also said he had been killed in the aftermath.
Photos and video from the scene showed the area taped off by local law enforcement.
A number of helicopters have arrived to transport the wounded, KSAT 12 reporter Max Massey said.
Texas governor Greg Abbott said: "Our prayers are with all who were harmed by this evil act. Our thanks to law enforcement for their response."
He said more details would be released by the Texas Department of Public Safety shortly.

It will come out what the skinny is...since it is a small town..perhaps he really took to black magic, occult, gothic crap and built up hatred for, ‘his wife’s church’. Wouldn’t surprise me if Las Vegas gave him confidence. Likely he planned it a while.
1. Every active duty and law enforcement SHALL carry 24/7/365 everywhere, no exceptions or exemptions, nationwide.
2. Every law enforcement & military reserve or retired is granted same blanket authorization but is requested to carry.
3. All armed forces, law enforcement veterans and natural born citizens are granted same blanket authorization if they choose to participate in carry.
4. Govt provided reduced cost or grants on all ammo and firearms for all above 1 through 3.
"....well regulated Militia..." where regulated meant "trained citizens" when it was penned in 1791 as there was no standing armed force existing.
The federal govt SHALL provide training and range time to all above 1 - 3 as it is clearly MANDATED by the Constitution.
“Most states make church unlawful to carry.”
We were only speaking of Texas today.
Where are you getting this from?
Good. I’d bet they position themselves where they can see anyone coming in, too.
You can have an armed and trained security team in Ohio and our church has one. These men patrol the halls during all services.
I thought I read that the congregation is only 50.
Yep. A potential real issue. In my large church, probably about a third of the men carry. Crossfire injuries would be horrendous. Hopefully the hired leos would deal with it first or it would look like WW3.
You might be right about it being Chris Ward: http://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/148103336/chris-ward-is-the-church-shooter
people in general these day astonish me.
When I 1st started working for the telco in the late 60,s people would go BS Crazy if you told them you could listen to their conversations and did.
The other day some dipshit is in the produce section of a major grocery store here and is on his phone telling some one how his grade school daughter is having problems in school because she keeps touching herself. I said to myself how crap is nothing sacred anymore. Someone in that store may know this family and now know the daughter is having problems adjusting...Sign of the F’ed up times
We certainly CAN carry in church, and we DO.
WTH is it with Texas gun laws? They SUCK.
“You may not carry in church.”
Not true in Texas. I go to a very large church, even the choir is armed.
All due respect to the deceased, but I’m not surprised.
The Dems needed to fabricate a tragedy to take the heat off of themselves from Uranium One and the DNC rigging.
Any ID of perp(s) yet?
Not allowed to carry in church.
= = =
No problem.
Just carve out an “L” shape in your King James (the thick one), and insert some “interpretation”, right near Luke 22:36.
Shoot the family at home or in the church. ??
I think they were at church, check it out, get back to me. Thanks
Just Awful...
What a waste.
It were better that he’d never been born.
About 8 years ago one of my grandsons, age 12, posted on FB that the family was leaving for vacation the next day and would be gone for a week.In other words, the house would be empty.
I was horrified-—and immediately notified my daughter to warn him about his postings.
He’s 20 now,and virtually disapperared from FB——it’s seems to be passé for the kids.
.
As far as I have seen, I think this is it.
